I was curious if anyone else has turned the Walther Rolling Mill kit into a car repair shop?
I would like to see some pic’s if anyone has done so to give me some ideas on doing so.
Thanx in advance,
Dave
I guess if no ones replied yet, that means that you were the only one imaginative enough to think of that idea.
Many steam-era and early diesel-era car shops were built with a lot of windows for natural light, such as this example from Pen Argyle, PA on the DL&W. More info on Pen Argyle here. It was built in 1914 with a sawtooth roof (with skylights). This was replaced in the '50s with a flat roof.
Here’s another example from the PRR in Altoona from an old postcard
These were kind of typical, especially in colder climes. If you are modeling a more modern era, there may be examples of car shops in milder climates that look more like the Walthers Rolling Mill model, but I don’t know of one off-hand.
