Walthers Roundhouse how to secure track

I just finished building a Walthers Roundhouse and need to secure the track to the floor inside. What glue should I use to secure the brass rails to the plastic floor?

Thanks,

Mark

I used Walthwrs Goo and it worked fine. I am sure other tpes og glue would also work, but this was cheap and easy. Good luck!

I used liquid CA cement with a hypo needle applicator attached to the bottle. I soldered my feed wires to the underside of the rails and drilled holes for them under the rail thru the floor and subfloor (plywood). Hold the rail down with the feed wire in the hole and run the tip of the cement applicator along the base of the rail. Just hold it for a few seconds and you are done. Mine have been in place for about two years now and they hold great.

PS: I use nickel silver rail. Did you really mean Brass?

Mark565,

Whether you use,Brass track,or NS track, that is entirely up to you, but you should give a little thought,to if you use Brass,it will oxidize, quicker, just sitting there,as opposed to NS, resulting in,poor electrical contact for Engines you put in there. I use code 83 NS in my nine stall roundhouse, affixed with,Zap-A-Gap,Medium CA +,it is thicker than regular CA and it is a lot stronger…I get just plain weathered rail,no ties, from ME,I attach my feeder wires to the outside of the rail where the turntable pit is and fill in with ties. Have Fun!!

I did exactly the same thing, and it has held up quite nicely for the past 10 years.

Highly recommend using nickel-silver rail. Brass needs more attention to keep it clean, so unless you have a tiny crew to crawl into the roundhouse, you’re much better off using N-S tail in this application.

Thanks for the input.
