Walthers RTR turntable bridge higher on one end than other

Wanted to know if there was an adjustment on the bridge for height as one side is slightly higher than the other when turned 160 degrees.

I am unaware of any provisions for adjusting the height of one end of the bridge. Ahave you checked the bridge with a straight edge to make sure it is not warped?

Another possibility might be warpage of the pit. Was the pit a tight fit (no poetry intended) in the hole you cut in your platform? If so, it may be squeezed a tiny bit causing the center hole to be out of plumb?

Also, is the rim of the pit absulutely flat against your platform? Maybe some small debris got under the pit rim somehow.

I gave up on Walthers turntables a long time ago.

No pit problems, this is their RTR one, a 90’ one. We are not talking much of a diference but maybe slightly more than 1/64th, less than 1/32.

Yes, the RTR pits are widely believed (known?) to not be warped out of the box. But if the hole in the benchwork was an oval rather than a perfect circle and if the oval at its narrowist cross section was not as wide as the outer diameter of the plastic pit “bowl” installing the pit MIGHT cause it to bend a bit much like a warped pit.

Ant then there are the other “usual suspects” I mentioned earlier.

So lets say the pit was warped, at 180 degrees the table should be at the same point as the lead. Also to note, there is a lot of slop in the hole, at least 1/8" all around doing to the fact it was cut for another table and had to be recut with a tool that is not ment for such things because I needed to limit the vibration when cutting, so no binding at all.

I have the 130’ RTR TT and noticed that there is a very slight difference in one end to the other, but maybe only .005-.010". It is still enough to notice a slight bump up when the loco enters the bridge. I actually thought of filing the top of the rail at the very end of the ‘high’ rail, maybe back for 1" or so. I don’t pay too much attention to it now and some locos are affected more than others. Other than this, I really love the turntable and find it to work nearly flawlessly.

Yeah, I just ran my first engine with everything hooked up. The NW2 Kato unit did not seem to mind the slight bump. I found out that they could have fixed the problem when they glued the bridge but there is nothing you cfan do after market.
