Has anyone else had troubles with the Walthers website? I’ve been trying since yesterday to check on an order, and their home page times out.

They recently re-designed the site. Looks like they are having trouble with it.

Looks like the “curse” of New & Improved strikes again!!! I wonder whatever happened to the philosophy of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”!!! I guess that went out along with the KISS theory of Keep It Simple Stupid.
It seems as though every new generation has a fresh crop of “boy geniuses” who are going to reinvent the wheel until some old “fogey” comes along and suggests they try making it “round”. Then they offer the “New & Improved” wheel while patting each other on the back and feeling smug with themselves. Progress…???

I couldn’t get to it last night or this morning. Here is a handy website to use if you ever run into a web page that won’t open. It tells you whether or not a certain site is down.
Well they felt the site needed revamping and modernizing. Now old man Murphy is taking his vacation there. At least that gets him off my layout.
Nope it’s broke and the parts to fix it are on back order or have been retired…[:D] but here’s a list of dealers who have ordered those parts…

You said a mouthful there. I have an order that I want to track and I can’t. I’d really like to know what the status on it is.
According to their Facebook page, there was a black out.
This is what they wrote:
We’re working so hard to bring you the best NMRA experience you could possibly imagine that we’ve gone and blown the fuses!
Due to a blackout in our area the Walthers website is currently down. We will be back up and running shortly. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
Maybe they should have gotten on the pre order list.
It is up now.

Good morning everyone!
As we noted on Facebook, we did have an electrical outage here late yesterday afternoon. A line pole broke and knocked out all power for many hours. We also had some wicked storms roll through Wisconsin last night, which further delayed efforts to get things back and in operation
Power was restored sometime around 03:00 this morning Central Daylight Time (CDT), and it appears our servers are now back online — our phone system however, is still down as of 10:20 AM/CDT
We are open and working to get “upright and operational, in all respects ready for sea” ASAP! If you’re in town for the NMRA convention, the Walthers Showroom is also open as I’m typing.
Thanks for your patience and we’ll keep you posted here now that I’m aware of this thread.

I just tried it and its working OK but I’m not real sure the new and improved version is particualrly user friendly - maybe it will just take some getting used to
