Walthers turntable noise

I am curious to know how much noise the Walthers turntables make when operating. I have an Atlas TT which I kitbashed to add a pit and to extend the bridge. I have the optional electric drive system. My problem is the the drive is very noisey.

What is your opinion of the noise the Walthers makes?

Thanks

Dave

If you mean the newer indexed versions that are built-up, they are about as noisy as an old electric clock when the train room is dead silent. If you run sound-emitting locos, no problem. You’d have to get your ear down next to it.

I have the Walthers 130’ turntable, the older, indexed, non-DCC version. I don’t hear any noise. There is probably some minor level of noise but with sound decoders and the like, the noise, if any, is minimal.

Thanks - that is what I was hoping to hear (or rather not hear[;)])

My 90’ DCC TT has some grinding and rumbling noises as it turns. It doesn’t matter if a loco is aboard or not. I have always kept it covered when not in use. The indexing seems to wander a bit as well. This TT sat for a year without operating if that might be the reason for the noises.
