Looking for a auto reverser unit. Anyone out there want to get rid of one?
Also any recommendations for a unit that doesn’t cost a arm and leg?

www.dallee.com has an assortment of auto-reversers and train detection circuits…they’ve been around for a long time and there stuff isn’t too terribly expensive…chuck
If you’re running DCC, which seems doubtful from the tone of your question, Digitrax makes one. It will not work on a DC layout, though.
In the Layouts form there is a thread with directions on how to build one. Probably cost about $15 in parts from Radio Shack or some real electronics store:
