WARNING!

I knew that title would get your attention.

I have read several times on here where people wi***hat model train companies would not paint rolling stock in paint schemes they never had or at least give a warning that the paint scheme is not prototypical on that piece of equipment. I see Athearn has done the latter on its former MDC EMD Model 40.

They are still cool!!

Im relaxed when it comes to being prototypical on my MR, I would assume that someone who is serious about being prototypical would know if certain paint schemes or cars & trains were or were not correct…

Yes they are cool…

Mike…

Do you mean the ConCor Conrail steam engines Aren’t prototypical?? [:O]

I’ve never seen one of these EMD40s before… It looks perfect for my redlight district…

Jeff

I’m not to picky about things like that. I just buy what I like, without regard to time period, road name etc

Does this mean I have to get rid of my Amtrak Big Boy?

LOL LOL LOL LOL

Darrell, LOL and quiet…for now

In their e-mail re these new schemes, they do say they are not prototypical. They have others that are prototypical, so you are free to choose either or neither.

Bugger!!

Jon - you have a very, very warped sense of humour

Does the water tank have beer concealed in it per the “Tetley’s” TV ad from about 10 years ago?

Hmm. That kinda reminds me of the time I saw an Athearn SD40-2 painted in Network Southeast colors at a model train exhibition Horsham a few years ago.

Andre

Are you serious, or do you actually have a Big Boy in Amtrak? That would be cool.

Jon: THAT IS AWESOME! Are those airhorns mounted on the smoke stack?[(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]
