Warrior River?

Hey, I posted this in my other thread but didn’t go into much detail about it. I saw a train the other day and there were some cars i didnt recognise, as well as a Southern passenger car called the Warrior River it had Letterboards on it that said Salt Lake City, UT. And there is a big GPS dome on top.

The beginning, with the Warrior River car at the front

Middle of the train
Dont worry about reading the lettering on this pic, somehow it got mirrored but it is the right direction.

The end

The odd round top cars were all sporting Explosive Placards, and and the said on it, "In Case of Emergency, Notify A/C. 435-###-#### Now I know that it is from Utah somwhere and not in the Salt lake area As SLC has an 801 Area code and the rest of Utah is 435. All but 1 of these cars had 4 trucks under them instead of the normal 2.

Any idea of what I saw?

I am guessing if there were any DRGW they were in the DRGW 80010-80016 series. They are caryring rocket engines.

But whats up with the Warrior River car then?

Could they be living quarters for expediters? In the old days it was common for unusual loads to have expediters ride in the caboose. These guys were there to make sure the odball loads wern’t shoved off to the side till next shift, a common occourance. Well these days cabooses are scarce. Mabee they are useing the car for this purpose. Just a thought.

I believe what you have pictures is the Space Shuttle Rocket motors being transported from their assembly location by Morton Thiokol in Utah to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The damage by Hurricane Katrina to CSX’s NO&M subdivision have caused these shipments to be rerouted.
