Was going to purchase Terrain for Trains Smokey Hollow Junction, but...

…decided not to. I went instead to Home Depot to get some foam, and then went to the local hobby store to get Woodland Scenics risers, inclines, ballast, glue, tacks, etc. I bought the N scale Smokey Hollow Junction track pack, and plan on making my own layout, with roughly the same track plan, maybe with a few minor differences. I can then add a trucking industry like originally planned.

By making my own layout, I saved roughly $200.

you could also tweak it in case you wanted to expand. But you made a smart move, do it your own way instead of a cookie cutter layout

Yeah, that’s the plan. I have the track pack (or will get it soon), but I can make mountains where I want, make it flat, etc. I plan on having a trucking industry somewhere on the layout, something with St. Johnsbury.
