Was "what a bummer" Now Happy Weddings and Good Stories.

check this out…

been working more or less non stop for the last [banghead]3 weeks trying to get my work load all caught up so I could take 2 days off before I leave for my wedding ([:D] Yes! I am getting married this coming Saturday) But 2 days ago, while I was so hopeing to have some time to play on the railroad, as I havent been out there for more than 20 minutes in a month, I find my [censored] DCC gave up the ghost and now I am stuck. [:(!]

no trains…[|(]
ARGH!

Good news is, once the wedding is done, it looks like my fiancee is going to buy me a PowerCab by NCE, so not is all lost.

sorry had to vent…[8)]

[bow] Have a great wedding, enjoy it now. trains will happen on their own time. Congratulations !!!

Railroads break. Marriages are wonderful. What more can you say, but the details of the moment?

Congratulations on your new DCC system…oh, and your wedding too.[swg]

Kind of like that episode of the twilight zone where Burgess Meredith survives the end of the world and has all the time in the world to read and he drops his glasses. Anyways congratulations and good luck, man.

I’d be willing to give up trains for a couple weeks for a wedding.

I remember that episode! Always kinda freaked me out. Careful what you wish for, eh?

I am not upset about not haveing my trains for the wedding, quite the oppisite. Just finally, had some time to play and busted… So, I’m Posting like I am a “Spacemouse” to get my fix.

I do have some plans to finsih some scenery tonight. Maybe post some pics of that up.[:)]

Congratulations for your upcoming wedding. You have much to look forward to, on both fronts!![:D]

God bless you and your new wife.

I hope your luck is as good as mine. Our last anniversary was our 45th, and she, too, knew she was getting a model railroader.

Chuck

Enjoy your dcc system, it will be a better investment than your marriage!

Thanks guys! Chuck, congrats… I can only hope I live 45 more years!

And for those that tease me about marraige… Here is a couple of good stories why I know this woman is a keeper…

About a month ago she came out with me in the garage. I convinced her to run some trains with me. Well, she went along cause she loves me…kind a like when she needs me to go shopping at the store with her.

So, I hand her controls to the BLI SW7 and she plays engineer and I do the conductor things, pickin ’ the cars and setting the switches. Well before long she is haveing fun and toottin the horn and hitting the bell. Then she finds the button for the “coupler crash” Bless her heart, she got the timing down perfectly. Actually, it was pretty cool watching… of course, I tried to explain that you really cant have a “coupler crash” with one car… But, who am I to say anything… “Have fun honey”

So when the DCC system cooked, I was telling her the better systems and such when I made the comment, “One good thing out of this, I will have more fucntion buttons and I can use more sounds.” (My prodgiy only has 4 fucntions keys) She sat right up and said, “Really? You can have more sounds? We need to get one with more button thingys then so we can have more sounds.”

All I could say in return was how beautiful she was and how much I loved her.

About 2 years ago, I was hanging out at the train store on a Saturday. it was pretty crowded with guys hanging out, shootin the breeze and compareing notes. Some how we got on the subject of our spouse’s and our hobby. Some were grumbling other’s bit there toungue, some bragged. I chimmed in with the comment that I was lukcy i thought. “My fiancee thinks my trains are pretty cute.”

Well, this kicked the bee’s nest. They all started poppin’ off and telling me that trains arent cute… they are not toy’s blah blah, blah… Well, i was abut taken back, felt

John,

That’s a GREAT story! [(-D] Congratulations on your soon-to-be wedding. We all hope your ceremony is…“cute”.

Tom

Congrats on finding a real “keeper”. It’s a real plus when your wife supports your hobby instead of merely tolerating it, or worse, actually resenting it.

Regards

Ed

LOL, great story. Good luck on the wedding.

John
You better hang on to this one, you got a gem. I laughed when I read your story about the sound effects, as my fiance ran my Soundtraxx equipped RS3 at our clubs last show and blew the horn for EVERY crossing…It actually started to get on my nerves until I realized she was having fun!!. She also thinks some of my engines are cute,I grit my teeth and smile, for I know she’ll get me one every now and then “cuz its cute!”.[:D]

Yeah, I have one like that too. She will stand in the doorway and admire what I have done and when we go to the hobby shop, she finds more stuff than I do. It’s a great life!

Tom

John, she sounds like a real keeper. Congratulations on the wedding. Oh, and your NCE DCC[swg].

. Today’s my last day surfin’ the board them I am off for a week and half. [:D]. I showed my soon-to-be-bride and she thought it was very touching all the nice things you guys said.
Thanks guys, sincerley.

She finds more stuff because we’re men and we have a man look[:o)] If I need to find something around the house I always ask Jan first!![:D]

John congrats on the wedding, have a great ‘holiday’ [}:)]
