Thanks guys! Chuck, congrats… I can only hope I live 45 more years!
And for those that tease me about marraige… Here is a couple of good stories why I know this woman is a keeper…
About a month ago she came out with me in the garage. I convinced her to run some trains with me. Well, she went along cause she loves me…kind a like when she needs me to go shopping at the store with her.
So, I hand her controls to the BLI SW7 and she plays engineer and I do the conductor things, pickin ’ the cars and setting the switches. Well before long she is haveing fun and toottin the horn and hitting the bell. Then she finds the button for the “coupler crash” Bless her heart, she got the timing down perfectly. Actually, it was pretty cool watching… of course, I tried to explain that you really cant have a “coupler crash” with one car… But, who am I to say anything… “Have fun honey”
So when the DCC system cooked, I was telling her the better systems and such when I made the comment, “One good thing out of this, I will have more fucntion buttons and I can use more sounds.” (My prodgiy only has 4 fucntions keys) She sat right up and said, “Really? You can have more sounds? We need to get one with more button thingys then so we can have more sounds.”
All I could say in return was how beautiful she was and how much I loved her.
About 2 years ago, I was hanging out at the train store on a Saturday. it was pretty crowded with guys hanging out, shootin the breeze and compareing notes. Some how we got on the subject of our spouse’s and our hobby. Some were grumbling other’s bit there toungue, some bragged. I chimmed in with the comment that I was lukcy i thought. “My fiancee thinks my trains are pretty cute.”
Well, this kicked the bee’s nest. They all started poppin’ off and telling me that trains arent cute… they are not toy’s blah blah, blah… Well, i was abut taken back, felt
