Words have meaning. Calling people terrorists just because you disagree with them is typical of the slander that comes from a small number of posters here.
Why does TRAINS ask us to keep posts “thoughtful” and “respectful” and tell us that “Offensive comments” will be deleted when it allows a small number of posters to consistently hijack threads ranting about socialist government etc. etc.? (Not to mention, it would be nice to have a comment system that did not consistently post duplicates of comments…)
It’s about time!!!
This is a classic case study of what happens when socialist government gets involved with taking care of the most simple task. Without socialist government eco-terrorists regulating the freight railroads, BNSF would have either removed the hill in question or relocated the track decades ago. Instead, nothing gets done until enough whining eco-friendly money losing so-called high speed train advocates make enough noise to overpower the eco-terrorists, which should have been ignored in the first place. Of course, as always, the project is going to cost 10 times as much as it should due to government studies of the functionality of a backhoe mounted on crawler treads and so on. Not to mention protecting the yellow spotted purple striped pink weasel so the eco-terrrorists don’t get more upset than they already are.
Goose’s comments are about as welcome as the mud that oozes down the hills every winter and spring and fall… Fact is, a heavy rail transit service and Amtrak trains to BC and Chicago both use the line and both have their services annulled due to mudslide, And Interstate 5 between Seattle and Everett is packed solid, so buses aren’t the answer.
Please! Stop all the political BLA-BLA-BLA and get the repeat posting problem under control. Can’t we just talk about trains?
Enough of your flatulence, Goosie. I suppose you don’t mind when the government sinks myriad sums of money into highway projects so people will ride busses instead of ,
God forbid, passenger trains.
All you folks need to go hash this out on some other platform so we can save this one for trains and only trains. Shame on you all for waisting our time.
It is high time something was done. The slides are largely a result of real estate development as the views are spectacular from above the tracks. I am certainly glad to know that remedial work is getting underway.
Goose - your comments are right-on!! But, I’m surprised that the NIMBYs and eco-terrorists haven’t stopped this project already. They must be sleeping. I suspect that one day an operator will start up his bulldozer and the thing will explode from the booby trap in the starter system. And will the liberal court system do anything even if they are caught? Don’t bet on it.
