Why are we still buying railcars from the Japanese? Does no one remember Pearl Harbor?
Jeffrey you really need to “get a life”. You either complain about any rail system as a Liberal agenda and then you complain about unions and then complain about money being spent on any transit projects. I get it , you are a Tea Party person that is against any transit unless it covers it’s full cost. You think all union people are lazy bums that do nothing but raise the cost of products. The trouble is I don’t know of a single interstate road in the entire US that earns it’s full rate of return and since most are toll free they are in fact total money losing propositions.
The cars are assembled in that part of the US due to Nimby opposition in many parts of the US. They also pick that location in the center of the US because it is the center of the US and has plenty of rail access.
Ever notice how the Japanese place their assembly plants in rural areas in the Midwest and South? Far away from where the product will be used. Why? Quality control and unions. Both are related. When the union power increases, quality decreases.
No picture?
That’s your opinion Mr. Guse
Where’s a pic.?
Hey Trains. Where is the pciture??
It would be interesting to know if the major components will be made in Japan and shipped here for final assembly so the claim “Made in USA” could be wrongly applied. This is a common practice in the automotive industry.
Are these cars going to be assembled from kits shipped in from Japan so that they can wrongly say “Made in USA”?
