Can the Cabin John trolley line be reactivated?
Funny I was thinking of the Cabin John Trolley today. Back when Metro was first built they decided to save mony by bypassing Georgetown and instead go straight across the river and up hill to Roselyn. Now the push is to somehow connect Georgetown to the network. Smartest move would be to run another heavy rail under ground from Foggy Bottom through Georgetown and then come above ground just after Goergetown University then run above ground on the old Trolley right of way. Run it across I-495 and build a large Metro station near the David W Taylor Naval research center.
Sadly, that’s about as likely as reopening Glen Echo as an amusement park. Nice dreams…
