Watco to acquire two Iowa Pacific shortlines
I wonder if IPH is going to try and acquire the WSOR, seeing as half of it is familiar territory with Ed Ellis (search Wisconsin and Calumet Railway)
WATCO owns WSOR these days, so no.
This is a big surprise. Wasn’t Mr. Ellis talking not all that long ago about building a line to connect the WT&L and the T&NM? I wonder what Iowa Pacific will use the money for. I suppose they’ll have to retire the Permian Basin name . . . since they’ve sold off their lines in the Permian Basin.
Iowa Pacific certainly did a good job to build the traffic base and these properties are in good hands with Watco. Maybe IP needed to retire some debt.
