Water Tower Detail Parts

Happy Memorial day and thank you to all who have or are serving and giving so un-selfishly. Looking for water spout, rigging rope and pulley’s and the weights. Kind of had mishap with tower transporting to basement and really need the pulley’s more than anything. Got everything else back together but can’t locate one pulley and string for spout an no longer have plans, was Walthers 933-3531 kit.

Shannon

Shannon,

I can only, suggest, giving,Walters a call at customer service, not E-mail,They may be able send you a PDF file of the plans,as far as parts for that I don’t have a clue, but I’m sure, they can help,a lot more than anyone…

Cheers,

Frank

Well, those are certainly critical parts, and Walthers is not very good about warehousing spare parts.

So, your only option may be to purchase another kit to get the needed parts.

Try http//:scale-structures.com

The site has so much stuff the easiest way would be to go to the ‘Search Box’ and type in Pulley

Walthers does not seem to like to carry spare parts they claim they could not send me spare pantographs for my subway cars.

Check with Grandt line they make a spout set that comes with the pulley assembly

Guy

Thank you everyone that replied to my daughter, as usual you all came thru- we just ordered the Grandt Line spout kit. I new someone had it but couldn’t remember who. Walthers has some very nice models but getting replacement parts has not been of any use, we had machine shop that was completely missing sprue of parts and they just ended up sending complete new kit, they don’t seem to stock just parts of kits as I see that as being really an economical solution due to large number kits available.

Parts are out there. (The truth is out there). I picked up a nice white metal cast spout at a train show. For pulleys I used a multi size leather punch to punch them out of sheet styrene. Spout counter weights are short bits of brass tubing that slide up and down on brass wires. Starting with a junker plastic water tower from a train show, missing spout and some other stuff, I found or made all the pieces.

Here is before.

And after

And here is the pulley making punch.

Well done! looks as good as the Grant line one if not better.
