I just started a new job that requires me to drive to and work in the Jonah Natural Gas Field every day, and all last week, we were lucky to hit 0, thre are conflicting reports for this week, either warming up to 30 degrees(yay!!!), or its gonna stay frigid cold below 0, they just dont know. That is one frigid place this time of year. There is a town in Wyoming that holds the record for the lowest average annual temerature in the nation as well, It gets dang cold there!
It was -32c the other night while I was working. Calling for -33c when I go back to work Monday night. I don’t wanna know what it is with the wind chill. -33c without wind is a walk in the park, but add wind and brrrrrrrrrr.
When I left the model railroad club this evening it was 11 below zero degrees F - and there is no heat in the club building. I for one will be doing my part to encourage global warming by pouring out some old motor oil mixed with gasoline in the yard tomorrow and lighting it on fire. Who’s with me? We could make it a party with some cold budweisers and maybe a few brats over the fire! Betcha that’s some great flavor!!!
I suppose I shouldn’t be suprised. In December we had a few 50 degree days so it is only fair that we make up for it with some sub-zero days this month.
It was a freezing 72 degrees here today in Santa Monica. Tomorrow they’re saying it might hit 75. I don’t know how much longer I can stand Winter. [:D]
Sorry - But growing up in New Jersey and now living in California… I just have to do that sometimes.[8D]
You know what’s wierd? My brother and sister both teach in your neck of the woods and would you believe they actually miss this type of weather? I don’t understand it, in part because I have to work out in it. I hate it. But everytime I talk to them they talk about WI and the seasons that they miss like fall and winter. Pretty sure if they were back here they may think differently.
