We need some guidelines

I noticed that the title was changed somewhat[:-^]

Generally I did not find too much of that kind of behaviour on this orum–nearly as much as on some others I’ve been on–if things get that rough and tumble there is always posts of cat pics–that always derails a thread into a humourous thread after awhile. That’s where icanhazcheeseburger.com comes in handy sometimes[swg]

Or the banhammer—[:-^]

I do think though that having guidelines will work only so far. If someone is consistantly arguing and calling people names–which is to my mind a complete admittance of having lost the debate in the first place–then a temporary ban, sometimes, will do the trick. Mind, there are ways of getting on forums as well if one is banned so that might always be an option

The reason I started this discussion is because a post of mine was removed for suggesting that the US government has no money to hand out for high speed rail due to having spent well beyond the income they are receiving. Somone took offense at that and it was removed. I still don’t know why as noone has told me.

ndbprr (11-10/14):

I for one certainly sympathize with your bafflement, because I too had a topic removed once, one that I thought would help prevent railroaders and railfans from being pickpocketed of ten years’ worth of TRAINS Magazine subscription renewal money!

The guidelines are readily available, sufficient, and are pretty clear cut. But, I believe those that enforce those guidelines occasionally misinterpret matters and overreact. I guess they are only human like you and I.
