we need this in o-scale,3 rail

ge,ho

I like the F unit. I don’t know about that Lime Green Genral Electric diesel though.

What is it?

The F unit is a part of his signature.

The radiator vents are too small to be an AC4400. It looks like an AC6000 although again the radiator vents are slightly different. It’s closest to an AC6000. UP would call this a C45ACCTE (AC4500). The 45 is basically a 6000 with a different engine (4500 hp) and slightly different radiator vents. Lionel and MTH both make an AC6000. Here’s Lionel’s:

same question.

The locomotive is General Electric’s hybrid Evolution locomotive prototype. Externally, it is no different than an ES44AC/DC’s on the road today, except there are large rechargable batteries under the frame. MTH has the Evolution tooling made so I’d think this would be made eventually. I agree it’s a very cool paint scheme.

Are my posts not going through? I can’t see my last one. Weird. That is NOT an ES44 (C44, AC4400). The radiator vents are larger than a 44. It’s what UP would call a C45ACCTE going by appearances alone. The “hybrid” as was pointed out above means it has batteries and I guess would probably also change the name. When using dynamic braking, instead of the heat energy being dissipated out the top, it is instead sent to a battery bank as regenerative brakink. This energy can be used later when needed. It’s external appearance is a a cross between an AC4400 and AC6000. The radiator flares do not match either but do match the 45’s.

As Bob said, its GE’s hybrid version of the ES44/40. It was in Trains a few issues back, and I would think most people on here have a subscription…

BTW, to all those looking at the radiator vent size to try to ID the loco, right on the side of them it says “Evolution Hybrid”…
