Why would anyone want to leave Winterpeg ( my home town ) It’s only a -41 windchill today. Now I know why dear old Dad moved out to the West Coast 52 Years ago.[(-D]

Where in north Alabama? Nice area, four seasons climate, Humid in the summer, rainy in the spring. Very little snow. Biggest weather problems are probably thunderstorms/hailstorms.

Bruce, why would you ever want to leave Winterpeg and its 4 lovely seasons–almost winter, winter, still winter, road construction? And where else would you get the excitement of an annual spring flood? And don’t forget, it’s a dry cold and not a moist heat.

  1. An occasional tornado -rare if one actually affects you in a bad way

  2. Ice Storms- ITS NOT SNOW. These can cause trees to fall across the power lines, leaving you without power for quite awhile if its widespread. Those automatic natural gas generators connected to your breaker box are nice to have.

  3. Sunburns [8D]

If you decide to come down, welcome, just don’t become a Bama fan. [swg]

PS You like to fish?

Hi, It’s not bad here, I moved here from Ca (Mexico Del Norte) 15 yrs ago The humity is killer, We had snow this year BUT thats supposed to be a once in a hundred yesr thing!!! The local weather tribesmen will try to scare you to death about approaching tornados(Give me an earthquake anyday)

There are not verymany train shops here, unless your into Lionel O guage, The living is alright, depending on where you are are looking at moving to. Housing costs are climbing in the Huntsville area because of BRAC, at least thats the realitors excuse! Its a reasonable drive to Atlanta, Ga, Nashville Tn. and Birmingham Al. Gulf shores is a nice long weekend trip.

You could do worse than moving here, are you retiring or looking for work? there is work around here But like anywhere lots of competition for jobs Good Luck

When the end of the summer comes you will have to declare you elegance to one of the Alabama college football teams.

Just be ready for heat and humidity.

And remember, Roll Tide

Warner Robins, GA

When you get there, just tell them your favorite football team is (pick any of these) Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, USC. Or if you really want to mess with their minds, tell them your favorite football team is Man-U.

Just wait until September then go to your local restaurant with all of your winter clothes on carrying your ice skates and a hockey stick and ask them when practice starts. That’ll confuse them!!!

You might also want to add a second name to your fist name, like Bobby Jo, or Jim Bob, Chester Bob, or something along those lines.

Also don’t forget to visit your local dentist to get your 2 front teeth removed so you can spit “your chew” easier.

Then to complete your transformation you’ll need a rusty 4WD pick up with the biggest set of tires you can get on it, swampers.

That should get you started other than don’t say “eh”, it’s “huh?” in “Bama”!!

As some one who grew up in Georgia, the South has two seasons, HOT and LESS HOT. [:P]
