Weathering buildings?

hey everyone,

is there any easy cheap way to weather buildings? any comments are welcomed. you can also post anything about bulidings here if u want to

I use powdered chalk and powder tempera. To bring out mortor lines on brick walls, I use a shaving cream brush to apply a small amount of off-white or gray to the walls then wipe it off with a moist finger, which quite neatly leaves the color in the mortor lines. I can also apply dabs of moistened chalk to the wall to make different colored areas. to hold it in place I apply a thin coat of Matte-Finish spray.

You can also thin washes over the finished model. One popular way is India ink and alcohol. You can also use earth colored or black paint thinned way down in the appropriate thinner. Brush on the wash and wipe off excess.
