Weathering Couplers?

O.k. folks, how do I weather Kadee couplers with out bugering up the coupling mechanism? I have been weathing with chalk and dullcoat, but I have had the gumtion to try to do the coupler also.

Thanks, Hansel

You might want to purchase Kalmbach Books Basic Painting And Weathering by Jeff Wilson. There is a section that shows how to weather couplers. Basically you use an airbrush or a spray can and apply in very light coats. This way you won’t mess up the coupling mechanism.

Hope this helps.

I dullcote my couplers, and then add a mix of rust colored powders. Then go back with dullcote. I’ve never had a coupler not work after that.
