Website update

Hey guys!
Just letting you all know that I finally updated my website ( http://www.members.cox.net/southmassey ) with pics of my new layout. I just finished laying all the track last night and thought now is a good time to take a little break and put my pics up on my site. I changed the format of the picture sites a little between the old layout and the new layout please tell me what one works better. There are no new layout layout pics yet cause I am still in the construction phase so please check that out!

I miss running the longer trains that were possable on my old layout but this one has more operations to it believe it or not. I would not say my first layout was a failure it was just not all that I wanted it to be. The only thing that this layout is missing to be all that I want it to be is a few hundred square feet (but isnt that want we are all missing?).

So check it out and let me know what you think of the layout and or the site itself.

They both look mighty fine to me. Keep up the good work.

I enjoyed looking at the construction pics. Watching it go from a slab of plywood to a MRR is nice.

What program did you use to design your layout?

Things look really good!

Argh, sorry, missed the point about xtrak in the website. My bad.

But I do have another question: what thickness plywood did you use? And then what thickness of pink foam? Then regular cork white glued on top of that?

If my assumptions are correct, that must be a very quiet base on which to fun.

Again, NICE WORK!

Thanks everyone for the input here.
Pennsy, the ply wood is 3/8". I would have liked to go a little thicker but I didnt want to add too much weight because I wanted the layout to be portable. As for the foam it is 1/2 inch and I only nailed it to the layout no gluing there. As for the roadbed I used Woodland Scenics foam roadbed white glued down to the pink foam. This works OK but I did find that the white glue takes forever to dry gluing foam to foam. The layout is quiet except when my metal wheels run over frogs and then I get the clickity-clack sound of real trains. [:)] Well got to go talk to you all in a few days. (I hate duty days [:(] )
