Are those palms from China but enhanced?
Are those palms from China but enhanced?
Karl, that is absolutely amazing work. I actually thought it was Bob Grech at first.
The palms trees are from Scenic Express
Installed “canvas” sunshades to my Bachmann S4 today. That pretty much finishes up the modifications I planned to do.

I’ve been working on this Helium car that I had picked up at a train show last November.
Added sprung trucks and Kadee couplers along with a better looking roof walk.
Still have a few details to add a few more details, but for now it runs on the layout .
Use to see Helium cars out on the branch line that I model

That helium car looks great! I have one of the old AHM releases.
UP 1499 rounding the bend at Sundown.

Here it is at long last. My first post to photo fun and my first wood kit!
And another shot

Still waiting for roof paint and porch stairs in these shots. The house has been finished since these were taken.
As always great work shown here!
Nothing very photogenic right now on the SLOW. I did get a chance to add some railbars to the rails and do a bit of rusting of the rails in a few spots, but I’ll wait to show that when more is done. I have also decided to start demolition of the SLOW… Oh! Just some of the part that is still plywood central! Decided I didn’t like what I did and that there is no way to mike it look better. I also have a major bottleneck for when I start having operating sessions. I started with this for a track plan in the new room:

Here is what I plan to do with it. The large island in the middle of the room is being removed, and the part against the far wall will be updated to do a better job for me:

Removing the staging area and putting it elsewhere opens up a lot of space in the center of the room for me. Demolition started this afternoon.

Never know what you may find with one of these projects… Had a visitor who moved into the layout a year ago. He was dispatched to mousey heaven soon after I found his leavings, but some were hidden until today.

Will be vacuumed up tomorrow. Should be done removing the island an a couple days. Staging will go on the wall to the left, and a return loop will be installed as well. Most of the track in this entire half of the layout will be redone with hand laid code 83 trackage.

The Cumberland Planning Department was hard at work again today, laying out the major highways around town. I’m using strips from an old set of plastic vertical blinds for the roadway, and it’s PERFECT! I just have to mask off some striping and give it a misting of flat black and gray to get an asphalt look.

Here’s Baltimore Street, which will be the heart of Downtown Cumberland. On the other side of the station, I’m working out the location and grades of US 48, which divides north and south Cumberland, and passes just south of the WM station.

Looks like Jezzers, Hamster and Captain Slow are hung up behind a Caravan enthusiast! Well this will end badly, I’m sure!
The Stig.
There are Chinese sellers on ebay selling that same palm tree 40 pieces for $8. [:O]
I will have to check them out because I still need several more trees
