Weekend Photo Fun 1 - 3 February 2013

Gidday All, That time again, just another assembled kit from me, this time a “Branchline Blueprint Series” boxcar.cutting the fine detail parts from the sprue was a delicate operation.

Looking forward as usual to the really good stuff.

Have a Great One Folks,

Cheers, the Bear.

I can’t sleep, but I can post to WPF…[|(][oops][|)]

This one was selected from pics with my post on simplified ops:

Here #456 nears the end of a long day:

Nothing new this week, I have some old pictures from the Strongsville (OH) Society of Model Railroad Engineers Club Layout, which will be open for the 2014 Cleveland NMRA Convention.

PC SD40 & 45 Taking the siding.

Wabash F7’s leaving a block signal.

Pennsy L1 Mike taking water before proceeding.

Thanks for looking!

Rick J [2c]

I weathered some of my cars for my ethanol train.

I have 12 Ethanol 30k tank cars, and 8 of the Trinity 4-bay hoppers. I have 6 out of 20 done so far.

Michael,

Good job on that weathering! Discrete, subtle weathering that really stands out.

Bear, Mike, Rick, and Michael. … Great work!

I recently lettered my Mantua Classics 2-6-6-2 to resemble locomotives employed on Burlington’s Deadwood Branch in the Black Hills region of South Dakota from about 1910 to about 1950. Also in the photo is my Proto 2000 Heritage 0-6-0 .

Garry-

I losy my Proto 2000 0-6-0 in a home fire but it was one of the finest locomotives I’ve ever owned!

Sorry to hear about the fire. I hope your insurance will replace your losses. There are other forum members who had house fires, too.

I agree! [Y]

Great work everyone. I finished the track and scenery project I have been working on for the last month. The next project is to make a coal mine.

Curt,

That came out really well! You should consider editing in a BEFORE pic to go with the excellent AFTER pics, as I think that will better convey by comparison the dramatic improvements you’ve made.

It couldn’t hurt to add more trees, but that’s true with most layouts. I’m somewhere around 700 to 800 right now and still could easily use a couple of hundred more. All in good time, my friend.[:D]

Garry,

I really like that articulated, something you don’t associate much with the CB&Q, but which they did have. I keep getting the itch for one myself, but my standard gauge line is modern enough to be all diesel (I keep telling myself…[;)][A]) even as my determination weakens.[}:)]

Curt that looks amazing, lots of good work. I may dirty up the thread with some non layout pictures. [] I wish I had a layout.

Mike & BN 24- Thanks or the kind words. Here is a pre-shot

looks very different but still pretty great, I see an F unit.

Wow, the after shots, really look great, going from this to that. Congrats. on finishing that project.

Good luck with your coal mine,

Sam

Sam,

Yes, the comparison really conveys the excellent job Curt did on this project.

Curt,

Thanks for posting up the Before shot.

Happy Weekend,all!

JaBear: Looks good! You must be building up a pretty substantial freight fleet.

Mike: Love that Narrow Gauge! More on that later…

Michael: Very nice weathering - that rust along the top and seams of the car with the “corn” graphics is terrific.

Garry: Those engines look great! 'Wish Walthers would do a Proto UP 0-6-0.

Curt: The “remodeling” job came out really well! 'Changes the whole look of that area.

LNEFAN: In the summer of 2010,my oldest brother lost his house in New Hope,PA. when it was struck by lightning.Luckily no one was home at the time.Large families(myself and 6 other brothers and sisters on my brother’s side, and 8 siblings for his wife) helped to at least replace family photo’s,but EVERYTHING else was lost. 'Hope you’ve been able to get past what surely was an awful time for you.

I hope to have a photo or two to show later this weekend. Here’s a video of about as long a freight as I ever run…

Mike

Mike,

Wow! Glad I didn’t start counting cars, as that would’ve been a lotta work. Do you remember how many?

That’s amazing Mike. The best I could count were 50 cars, I could be wrong, but very nice anyway.

Sam

I counted 50 cars including the caboose.
