Weekend photo fun!! 1/6 - 1/8

I thought I would start the weekend off with my latest project.

A NdeM 4-bay hopper. Used but not abused.

After

Lets see if I can match that great looking car Robby. Nicely weathered!

Ernie Dufrane poses next to his new Chevrolet outside of the Montpelier Jct. freight house.

a shot of the working side of the freight house

and along the river bank

I decided my freelanced RR needed an articulated

Since my layout is only 6 1/2 by 10/1/2 around the walls I opted for Bachmann’s 2-6-6-2

Then after running it a while I decided it was too big so I put it my display case with the other articulateds

But realizing that is was just about the same as my 2-8-4 with the same amount of overhang on the 22" curves I put her back on last week and now can’t stop running it

I also uploaded a video to You Tube

Great start to the weekend!

These are cars, that I completed this week, they are duplicates of cars that I did before, but I liked them so well I needed duplicates and in the case of the Wabash Covered Hopper, I will be doing more.

This is a Detail West FGE RBL Kit, removed the cast Sill Steps and replaced with A-Line Sill Steps, painted the car Big SKy Blue as that was General Foods color and they paid the lease so the EL could acquire these cars for food service. Lettered with Herald King Decals.

This is an IMRC 50’ PS1 kit, where I substitutued a Details West Plug Door for the Sliding Door, used a Details West Cushion Coupler Pocket and A-Line Sill Steps, Painted Boxcar Red and lettered with Herald King Decals.

This is an Atlas ACF 6 Bay Covered Hopper, painted with Scalecoat II M of W Gray and lettered with Mark Vaughn Decals.

Thanks for looking!

Great work so far everbody!

Here is a set of five F3’s. ABBBA

EM-1 will be a passenger excursion service. I just got a couple of Rapido B&O cars. Need to get more.

It’s sexy looking…

Very nice, Michael. A GP7 leads a freight through the yard.

Penn Central #9349 positions some hoppers at the grain silo area

OK I remember I have to use HTML

Just finished. A Precision Scale Short Caboose kit.

It was fun to build and resolve the “problems”.

I’m working on this Concor kit, the Iron Works building. Still a good ways to go.

Great modeling and photos again this week. I finally finished 2 of 4 Pennsy Intermediate signals after working on them for 2 weeks (seems a lifetime). The last 2 still need the electronic hookup. These are NJI Intermediate Signals with Logic Rail Technologies with IR sensors. Please excuse the shaking at first.

Robby,

your hopper is a stunning work of art!

Here’s another outdoor shot of the Rivarossi sleeper I recently metalized with Alclad. Sorry about the bluish appearance as that’s actually the sky’s reflection:

Great Job!

The only give away that it’s not real is the Kadee coupler “airhose” . Very real looking!!!

Thanks for the comments. I had a few days into this car. I hope to have the next project done sometime next week.

Here’s an ‘in-progress’ shot–ten years after finishing the front of the Sierra Buttes, I’m FINALLY getting around to doing the ‘back-side’. I generally don’t do plaster work during the winter in my garage–now I know why. Stuff’s taking FOREVER to dry! [:$]

That should look super once you’re done, Tom. I am curious to see it finished.

No photo from me this week, but I do have a rather crumby video. It is jerky due to it being a camera and not having the control that a video camera would have.

Tom, California has winters? LOL Great progress, looking forward to seeing your mountain finished, that looks great so far.

Crandell, nice video, it’s not that jerky. I also use my camera for all my videos. I set my camera on the tripod, so my hands are free to use the throttle.

Michael, the tripod is a great solution for steadiness, but I wish to avoid the helicopter view. As with so many things in life, we can never have it all. [:'(]
