Weekend Photo Fun 10-12-2007 Thru 10-14-2007

Heres 2 pictures I took at the Bucyrus club during the week of the county fair…I must add that was a fun week…

Looking down on the engine service area of DM Yard…

C&HV units rest between runs on the engine house outbound ready tracks…

I’ve been working on Photoshop digital smoke.

That’s a pretty strong image, steamage, but I can handle it. Got any more? [:D]

First eeryone nice photos. I myself havent done much railroad wie been working on peoples decals. I havent gotten any further with my kaslo SDL39 I had to reglue the motor and reglue the pilots. I’m hoping to atleast get the steps on tonight.

Here’s a 4-10-2 on a reefer block.

Wiring is not exciting. However, the results can be fun to look at. I spent some time on Penny Lane, wiring up the interior lights to a couple of local businesses. First, this is a retake of an old photo some of you may remember, with some lighting added inside Woolworths.

From the other end of the street, I got this evening scene of Madame Adrienne’s fortune telling parlor (“Sees All, Knows All”) and Suzanne’s House of Beef.

Finally, here’s the Upstairs, Downstairs view from the edge of the layout. Penny Lane (the street) sits atop Penny Lane (the subway station.) Here, the new R22’s wait for passengers.

Great work Mr B

but in the dark it’s hard to tell that those are the new green units

Those are very good photos. Who makes your palm trees? Are they kits or ready made trees?

Thanks

Here’s something I’m working on in my spare time. It’s an all paper structure (with the exception of the base).I found the link to the plans on another forum and printed one out and decided to cut it out and build it. I still have to put on some details and install the roof. This is what I have so far.

I hope to have it completed by tomorrow night.

I bought the Palm Trees years ago from a hobby shop in Sacramento, CA. called Bruce’s Trains. Might want to check with them, they have an ad in MRR hobby shop listings. The’re not cheep, back then, they cost about $20.00 each, but are the best Palm Trees I’ve ever seen.

Here’s what little progress I’ve made on the layout the last couple of weeks. It doesn’t look like much. Well, okay, it isn’t much, but with a crazy work schedule and wife’s night/weekend classes and rowdy kids, trust me, it represents my only tenuous hold on sanity lately.

Great photos this weekend, everyone.

That is a very nice looking locomotive. If only the BN would have survived. I would love seeing those things rumble through town.

well here it is the dreaded out of focus piture of the first structure i’ve built and weathered inover ten years. its an N scale model power cheapie (didnt wana dive into my 125.00 walthers tannery just yet)

Not ment to be a scenic wonder or anything…

… but here’s my first post in WPF, and my first picture of my new toy, an athearn challenger.

Mr. Grant, NIce layout. I always enjoy the pics from you.

Jeffrey, Your layout is improving constantly. I like the fact that you removed much of the clutter and your photo quality helps a ton.

I built a small car card shelf and will attempt to share a short video of a proposed steel trestle location.

The video should show 2 SD35’s pulling up to the summit after negotiating the proposed bridge, with an F3 AB arriving from Nevada into Victorville. I know, there was now such arrangement but it sure looks cool.

Jeff, that paper cut out looks like it is going to turn out well. Some really nice images this week. How pleasant it is that no-one has ruined WPF this week!

I got a new lens for my camera last week, a 70-300 zoom with a Macro feature from Tamron. I got it mainly for better shots of kids sporting events, but have been playing with the macro feature in the layout room. Here are some of the results.

Seeing the models up this close really shows any errors in their construction and painting. Every spec of dust is visible. Depth of field is hard to manage. These were both 30 second shots with the aperture cranked as far as the camera/lens would let me. It does I think give and interesting perspective not seen with a regular lens.

This is how close in you can get!

Let’s make that link active.

I don’t know if the forum being in maintinance mode is the reason (coincidence…hmmmmmmm), but I’m with you on that one!
