Nice, Chip! I love the irregular width boards underneath the platform - VERY 19th century!! [tup] The guy in the wagon: Is that where reclining seats got started? Seriously, VERY nice work. Where did you find the wagon and the horse?
Tom
eBay–I believe it was Musket Minatures–a cast kit. And the seat is reclined like that.
Still in progress. This is a Walthers RTR CR/CSX(NYC Patch) 86’ Hi-Cube Auto Parts boxcar. I started with a wash of Polly Scale Reefer White to fade the Conrail (hideous)maroon. After that, I took one of the ever-famous cosmetic sponges and dipped the edge in Winsor & Newton Raw Sienna*. I then stippled along the meeting edge of the roof/sides. Then, I took what paint was left and streaked it down the sides. Quickly, I took a paper towel wet with alcohol and used an up-down motion to remove most of the paint, but leave streaks in the lettering, logos, and a nice rust line down the ribs and in the seams.
*Or umber, I can’t recall which. For the guys who know more about this than I do, it’s the orange-brown color.

I wont double post but mines under my layout pics for this weekend
Haven’t had much time again this week. I have 4 major recording projects in a 5 week period so the layout has had to take 2nd place to the business for a while. (Mind you I’m not complaining as these will pay a lot of bills.) I have done a couple of minor things though on the pike.
A bit more scenery is in place at the old Zeduck Arthur estate - long gone.
And another “old Time” truck has been put together. This one a 1914 Diamond Reo for a local feed store.
Ray,
Nice truck. I’m going to be in the market for a few of those soon.
Matt,
Nice subtle work.
guys…nice work…please tone down the size of your pics…it took me 30 minutes to get here…ok here it goes…still working on the refinery and it’s starting to look like a real scene
Well, after almost a year and half on this forum, I am finally going to make my first post with pics in the Weekend Photo Fun!
I finally finished up my desert scenery over in the “east side”. My one true tribute to Arizona.
Then I am finally starting to have a little fun with the scenery and added this little setup at the end of my yard.

That is coming along VERY nicely. It has just the right feel.
Oh, and I like the paint jobs on the loco’s too. I noticed that a while ago and I’ve been meaning to tell you.
Well Thank you for the comments PCarrell.[:D] When your all by your self working, you keep thinking, “man, is this loooking good or am kidding myself…” You help put me at ease. This more or less my first attempt at alot of this so I have been nervous.
I am hopeing soon to find someone here locally that can make decals. The markings on the SW7 and the Caboose are added with PaintShop. Was playing roudn to see what they look like. I think though, with the power, Iam going to putKiva Valley instead of the KVR on the hood.
John,
Good work. It certainly reminds me of the desert. Start taking more pictures.
canazar great picks looks awsome !!

This particular thread on the forum is a constant inspiration to me (I’m only a little over a year in this). Great pics everyone.
canazar, that is really fanastic work. I love the switcher and am on the lookout for a DS44, SW2 or SW9.
cwclark, I’ve been in the Houston shipping area … I can almost smell the oil fumes from the refinery. Really nice.
Since I am in the late 40’s - 50’s time era I have fallen in love with the F3 and F7 loco’s. I’ve got my eys on a couple of AB sets. Almost bought a F3 MKT set this weekend, but, sanity prevailed; I need to shop for price.
And, for those cars/trucks, check this out. http://www.go-velo-city.com/shopping/index.html
I picked up a few of these last weekend at a train show. I think the scale is 1/72, so a little large, but, may be able to use. The above may have 1/87 scale. My wife found the web site.
And, this weekend, I did pick up one item for my slowly growing roster.
