Weekend Photo Fun 2-4 November

Gidday All, it’s that time again. Managed to get to the club Wednesday night and get the frame work done on the four exhibition corner modules. A primed straight module is leaning up next to them.

Have A Great One Folks,

Cheers, the Bear.

Here is one of my GP-38

Bear … Thanks for starting Weekend Photo Fun … Nice progress with the construction of corner modules.

Eric … Nice GP38.

Below is a photo of morning activity in Blackhawk. The Great Northern freight train has a 4-unit mix of first generation power. The Burlington freight train has 4 F-units and will follow the GN train. The Burlington SD7 will be headed down a branch line to pick up some freight cars.

Hello good start to the weekend so far. I have been working on my mountain.

Still have a lot more to do but its moveing along .Have a nice weekend Frank

Great work everyone. Frank- Those are great looking rocks.

I finished 2 projects this week. I put in work lighting in my Engine Servicing Facility and finished my RS-1, well almost finished. I need to redo the large number board numbers. They were done using a P-Touch label machine.

Great start to the weekend as always! My favorite thread of the week.

I have gotten more done on the “Mountain - Hillside” scene for near my staging tracks this week. Added grass, bushes, vines, and trees. A couple of the trees are not looking right so may be removed. The one at the back that is tall doesn’t fit with the backdrop and looks dorky so I plan to remove it. There is also one on the lower part in front that blocks a scene I would rather have open so I will likely remove that one as well.

Curt,Great looking PRR RS1.[tup]

Here’s a general service 50’ LS&W plug door boxcar.

The LS&W was biL Marsland’s freelance railroad…He was a follow member of The-Gauge forum and he passed away last year and as a remembrance decals was made for his LS&W…

I really like these decals since they reminded me of the old Champ decals which I found easy to work with.I truly miss the Champ decals.

I’m not sure what happen but,the decals isn’t that shinny since I weathered over 'em.I also notice I forgot to paint the trucks…[banghead] Also the wheels are painted “roof brown”…Not sure why they shine.

While I’m ok with this car,I still can’t help but, wonder if I went a tad to far.

A Norfolk Southern freight crosses the bridge while a Georgia railroad GP-40 passes beneath.

There’s some excellent modeling going on this week.

An E8 leads a local over Roaring Creek. DJ.

Good Afternoon all!

Once again some great pic posted!

Bear, looks like fun! there’s little about the hobby more enjoyable than starting a new layout!

Eric, nice loco, I ran a few of the real ones occasionally.

Garry, what can I say? Another great shot! Someday I plan on painting a scene of those Burlington F’s. BTW, I did continue west with my art this summer painting a view of the Super Chief in the Nevada desert:

Frank, nice looking rocks! two weeks ago you asked to see more pics of the grain elevator on our layout so here you go:

Curt, nice looking shops. That looks like the Walthers 130’ TT. That and the 90’ TT are the best improvements I’ve made for our layout. They’re so much fun to operate! I like the RS1 as well, oh those crazy Pennsy antennas! I still have to install a set on an Intermountain FP7, but that will be a winter project.

Lee, that scene has come along nicely! That’s a good way to disguise a corner on the layout.

Larry, nice weathering! You can actually get away with the unpainted truck look, just say it was recently outshopped with improved trucks!

Jacon, nice scene, I like the depth. Those new NS locos are so much easier to run than the old geeps. When you go into dynamics on a SD 45, for example, you had to put the reverser in neutral and count to 10 before applying the Dynamics, on the newer locos, you don’t have to wait, just go right to dynamic!

Everyone have a great weekend!

DJ, I missed your post. That’s a great shot of Pennsy F’s! a beautiful layout!

Frank… Your “rock work” looks great. Is all that track in the background a series of switchbacks? Looks like fun to me…

Bob

VERY nice work on the servicing facility Curt!

Dennis, It was a kit building, but I’m not sure of the manufacturer. I bought it assembled, and I did a little work on it to get it like this. Thanks for the comments!

Thank you everybody for the kind words.

I made some minor changes that I think did the improvement of the hillside project I was looking to do… Whatcha think?

A lot better balanced, and you can now see the little scene better.

BUCK!!! (heaven!)
Ray,
I think it is great! 10-4!!
I hope my future efforts will be half as beautifull as your artwork!

I’ve been working on some gondolas and scrap loads.
