Weekend photo fun 3/28- 3/30

I’ve got nothing this week cuz I’ve been working on the floor upstairs.

Guess I’ll post something old again to contribute.

Seam before

Seam after

Thanks for looking at the flaw fix :slightly_smiling_face:

Nice save TF. BTW, made sure to chock the wheels before re-shooting the ‘deuce roadster’ per your safety suggestion.

Nice pictures and scenes, everyone.
Thanks for opening Jimmy, and I feel your pain. These 2 tracks are over a transition in the benchwork, and both had a hump big enough to lift the leading driver flange of long steamers enough to derail.

Mostly patched up and painted, still needs ballast

I was going to put these in “2 For Tuesday”, but it slipped away.

A noob to DCC, I’ve been busy addiing decoders (easy) and redoing the internals for better LED light mounting (hard) in my fleet. Remotoring a few too. It’s so worth it to see proper looking headlights! More later…
Keep 'em coming! Dan

Oh Yeah, ya did

Didn’t remember messing with you about “Safety First” on that impressive Roadster scene of yours, …until just now

I’m here for once! I’m here for once! I spent some time tonight painting the handrails and grab irons on my '95 vintage Atlas Classic New Haven GP-9. They came from the factory black

but the McGinnis scheme GP9s had Red-Orange handrails and grabs

So… a couple of hours and some patience later…

The grab irons were a major pain, since they are molded on for these old models, and while I could make some wire grabs, and probably will eventually, for now this works perfectly to make the grabs visible and get the locomotive looking right!

Now, she needs a decoder (Planning on this being my first real deal sound install, so I’ll be going with a LokSound V5) and some hancock air whistles for the roof to replace those horns!

Thanks @N_Scale_Train_Boy. Love that GP 9 too. Looks really nice. The railroad that used to run by my house was part of the New Haven.

The touch-up paint was worth it! That Geep looks so much snazzier with its proper orange rails and grabs. Impressively tidy job on the molded-on parts!

It looks beautiful. How did you get the ties on the second track from the left twisted like that? Is this that “flex track” I heard about or is it custom-made?

I love the stories you can tell with weathering. Of course, one would have to be pretty in the know about diesels - somewhat beyond me, as I thought that was just a spot of really bad rust rather than the effects of a fire. Do you have any other units with that kind of “environmental storytelling”?

Dang!!! Love the Green, but you just made my BN roster look like a ghost town

If my excessive compulsive disorder kicks in at the Train Show today, we’ll all know who’s fault that is
