I think you mean Tour De Layout.
Cool seen there.
I think you mean Tour De Layout.
Cool seen there.
Shouldn’t that be “Tour de Layout”?
Dang you Motley.
Hey, excellent work & inspiration!!
Here is a New Intermountain AutoRack, next to a WIP Walters AutoRack with Plano Photoetched Panels in place. The Walthers model originally had pockets for cast silver painted AntiVandal Panels to be placed into, the Plano Kit said you can add their Photoetch over the pockes or cut them out. I painstakingly Milled them out, as I wanted that ‘See Through’ look. It WAS worth the effort!
The new model by Intermountain excels in detail! However, the Panels are so thin they are somewhat warped by the etching & pattern stamping process. The Plano Panels are at least twice as thick and accept shaping & hold their form.
I do like both cars, & I’d rather buy more Intermountian ones, than spend time in the shop, but I have a few more to mill, so I will complete them.
Michael, (Motley)
Love the nice shots with the new camera!!
Really dig the Builders plates & the Star on the WHeel hub in the close-up shot!
Digging it!
Since it is WPF I better add a picture (may be a repeat)
A PSC 3 Cylinder Shay Drive Train…
Running light heading home for the day
I should have snapped a picture earlier, but this engine just amazes me as to its pulling power. For a while I had more coaches attached to this than I had on the FP7
In Keeping with my peronal there of; “I spilled more Paint!”
I let loose on my Gon-Plow!
It started as a UP Gon from Exact Rail, & I sliced off a wedge from the ‘A’ end, & began scratchbuilding.
The Shovel platform is a little wid but is under the NMRS guage width & fits my bridges, I may not be able to run it against Docks & Station’s platfoms, however… She is a main line unit!
I mixed a little Zito Yellow with a majority of UP Armor Yellow using Scalecoat II…
It went on nice!
However, I do want it a slightly different tone to show the modification of the plow head.
A couple other Wedge plows are in the picture for effect.
We got 6 inches of snow in the last 3 days where I live, so this is still appropriate!
My conversion of a Vandy Tender to a Plow is still being constructed…
Didn’t have a lot of time this two last week because of a family disaster.
I take these shots two weeks ago about some progress on my really working mine in Nscale.
I made a bunker for coal inside the building, so the “coal” will flow naturaly to the working sas to load the cars.
If it’s not enough may be I will place a phone vibror motor against the bunker to help the load to flow trough the bunker.
Have a nice Sunday
Marc
Here it is with the masking tape off, & details back on…
Pretty decent color match, just what I was looking for, I love those Scalecoat II Paints!
Being Pushed by an ex-IMRL GP35 (modified Kato), now under IC&E…
Still have to paint-strip the old UP Logo’s & Numbering & replace the front panel plates.
Chad,
Nice work! A man after my own heart, chopping up a $40+ car and bashing it into something else.[B]
Mike,
Dang, LoL man!
I want to say that is the reason I made the Shovel & Wings so massive, her personality… But accidentally nice…
The picture shows it pretty much done now with exception of a little weathering & perhaps future lighting, holes all pre-drilled, etc.
As you said, she is a unique beast & that is why I chose to do that, although I don’t thik this one was the top shelf one, it has the cast in grabs on it… I took it cuz I dig the corregated panel sides, & I thought I really needed to mount a Big A$$ Plow on there, once I saw this video…
Boom Boom ala Zoom Zoom…
Thanks & Enjoy!
Thanks Bryan. I was just fooling around with the tools on “Windows Photo Gallery” and surprised myself!!! Now if only I could conquer my “fear” of 'weathering. [swg]
To the rest of the contributors [bow] [bow][bow]
Cheers, the Bear.
So, Heartland Division CB&Q, what is the dark color of this paint scheme, black; or, very dark green? In the photo, it looks like there is some green to it.
Thanks!
Beautiful work as always, from coast to coast and beyond.
I’m still working on my carfloat terminal, which I call Mooseport. It’s getting close to done, but in looking back at old pictures, I see I’ve been working on this one scene for a year and a half. It’s the nature of urban modeling, I guess.
The carfloat extends into the aisle, about where the camera was for this picture.
These are 2 of the 3 “idler flats” that are used so that the locomotives don’t have to run on to the apron. The engine is a Bachmann 0-6-0T tank engine, which can haul a surprising load, the three flats plus a 5-car string from the carfloat. The flats are Tichy kits, topped with a deck of real wood from Northeast Scale Lumber.
Mooseport is modeled with a canal, the remnants of an old mill canal from the Industrial Revolution. I just finished adding a Walthers fire escape to the main mill building.
well it doesn’t looks good on the 11" curves but atleast the power goes to the track, my ti"N"y project layout is still in it’s infantile stages. it graciously accommodates my NP 4-8-2 light mountain, my RS1 #50 gets the stutters, my BN NW2 runs like a dream, and #414 and it’s cars look a bit clunky but it sounds cool when it’s running.
Wow every week I am more inspired and learn something new. Here is what I have been working on. Thank you soilwork for your inspiration pics of Rhode Island for my back drop. I will be using them with some I found on net behind the town hall and police station.
