Weekend Photo Fun 4/27-29

Well, it’s 4PM Friday. Figured it’s about as good a time as any to start this weeks WPF thread.

I’ll start off with a few pics of my new Walthers Pullman Heavyweight cars I got today:

28-1 Parlor Car:

3-2 Lounge/Obs car:

8-1-2 Sleepeer:

36 Seat Diner:

Paired Window coach:

And an “action shot” as well:

The lights in the coach were a complete mistake, it’s just a reflection of the flash (though it looks pretty good I think)

Nice! Here are mine:

Thanks for starting the Thread Dan

Those are beautiful Passenger cars I have only one Walthers Pullman Heavyweight

observation car it’s supposed to run on 24" radius but on my layout it binds up

I couldn’t afford the $50 brass Sanding Tower at the LHS so i built my own

from a C&O drawing

I use the top of my super glue bottle for the tank and a cage and ladder kit from Plastruct

for a total cost of $6.00

After some paint

Dan, thanks for hosting. Isn’t it nice to get a solid passenger consist to play with? Very nice coaches, and that engine looks very interesting…is it a 4-6-4? Very nice, whatever it is.

Here is an image of a PRR J1 drifting down grade on my reversing loop across the river. Since this image was taken, I have received a nice Walther’s PRR Caboose to go with it.

Yep, it’s a Mantua 4-6-4. I have a Bachmann Niagara/Northern as well… but I couldn’t get a shot of it and the cars as well as I did with the Hudson.

I can’t wait until the club layout gets finished, then I’ll have somewhere to run these beauties.

The J1 is really nice looking [:)].

Hey, Hey, Hey! It’s the weekend already. Don’t have anything new to share from the layout, but did a little railfanning a few days back. Hope you don’t mind a few Prototype shots…

These are from the Finger Lakes Railway near the old Lisk buildings in Canandaigua, NY. They are reworking and ballasting track.

For you weathering fans:

Some of the ties (I think they were some time ago) that are being replaced.

Ooooooooooooooooooh…

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

turned a NS 50’ Boxcar into a gorgeous jade green P&LE Boxcar

[(-D] A huge compliment from you, Dave…thanks!

That ol’ gal can sure shake her booty.

I don’t have a very sophisticated editing program, so I used a hammer and a paint roller…

Very nice picture and scene, Crandell. Sure do love seein’ a line of coal hoppers…[:)][tup]

Tom

Sure I have a picture of a few of my locomotives I have been working on.

I have super detailed and weathered each of these milwaukee road units. The weathering is light but it’s there. Starting from the right, A Milwaukee U28B, Milaukee GP38-2, and a Milwaukee U30C. The beakon on the U28B works![;)]

my 1000th post!!

Happy railroading!

James

Some cool pictures. How do you post pictures? well maybe I should ask in a different spot so please forget that question for now

C&O Fan, I like the results. I love this kind of creativity. I must get on it. You inspire me.

Thanks Spidge

Living on a fixed income is great motivation for scratch building !

Molly’s version of Rail Fanning

Hi all,

Here are a few updated shots of some of the trackwork for my Bronx Terminal layout

Here is a shot of the prototype, taken in the 1940’s.

Some very nice photos this week already. Those new passenger cars do look good. Crandell, the sweeping vistas that are on your layout are awesome. I like the sky, photo-shop I presume?

Terry, very imaginative use of a glue lid, the project is looking very good.

It has been a few weeks since I posted anything, it has been a busy time with lots of travel, family gatherings, kids baseball, turning Catholic, you know minor stuff like that! Anyway, I have been slowly working on a project to fill a space behind a hardware store/mini lumber yard. It is very close to the front of the layout, so I want to get it detailed out.

It still needs a roof, some more weathering, and the ground needs some work, but it is coming along.
