I’ll do the honors of starting Photo Fun weekend.
I installed a new guard rail for the highway that runs below the trestle.
Caught the early morning local rumbling through town.

I’ve been working on a Bachmann GP7, rebuilding it into something resembling a GP9 and threw in an angular cab from an SD40. The fans I used also came from the SD40.
Here are the cars that I completed last week!
I built a Ribbed Side Models MILW ribbed side car, changed the 6’ Door to a 10’ Door, Carved off the existing door tracks and made new longer ones out of Evergreen plastic strips. Painted the car Boxcar Red and lettered with Details Associates Decals. By the way the WP purchased two of these cars from the MILW for use in the Amana Appliance Pool.
This is an Atlas 60’ ACF Precision Design Boxcar, painted Caboose Red and lettered for the KATY with Odd Balls decals for Auto Parts Service.
Branchline Trains kit built using the Despatch Ends and Roof included in the undecorated kit. Lettered for Early Bird Service with Champ Decals.
Thanks for looking!

Corey … Thanks for starting WPF. Your layout is looking very good! Nice highway with bridge.
Jeff … Your locomotive shop continues to rebuild locomotives with interesting results.
Rick … Very nice freight cars.
I made an ugly little crane for cleaning up spills of coke or coal at my coke oven. The crane can be seen in the first photo.
The coke oven is based on the Walthers coke oven. It has scratch-built structures added to it Also, I made the machines that move on rails located on the deck of the oven.
Ol’ 721, a Southern Consolidation coming downhill. The engine is one of Bachmann’s with the OEM Tsunami sound decoder and is probably my favorite engine.
Jarrell
Corey, great looking road and guard rails.
Jeffrey, your locos are always interesting.
HL, amazing modeling, good job.
Great scene and photo, Jarrell.
Clean up and site prep for CD Smoker co. DJ.

Jarrell … Good to see The Southern is back again this weekend. Your Southern 721 scene looks like a postcard. Great!
DJ … Thanks for the comment. You construction scene looks very real.
I agree… the Southern engine really does look like a postcard!
PL&M 204 was on the Laurel Creek local again this week…
WHOA!! for a second I thought I was looking at the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, whewwww…
Another shot of my Iowa Interstate ‘Area-Code’ numbered machine (so far I’ve only had 6 different Area-Codes). Full details on this unit appear in the “Paint Your Locomotive?” thread, or as you know, & can tell, it has my ‘usual’ treatment…
Ugly? Not so! I’d call it cute as a bug (except we don’t say “cute” here!) Very cool.

What a great start tothe weekend!!
I wish I had some more exciting photos but I am at least making some progress.
Cars on spot at the nex Brooks-Scanlon spur

First time doing a chop nose, just have to get the cab.
Vince,
Interested in your loco conversion, what was it & what will it be?
I’m also working on a conversion, an SD9 to a low nose SD10 for a retro DM&E unit. It has a difficult numberboard feather into about a 3rd of the round top cab. I think that will be the most interesting area to keep clean & be more unique than anyone eles’s units.
Good luck on yours, looks like a nice start!
Great Northern 2004 slowly works her way thru the yard in search of fuel and water after dropping of 150 loads of iron ore.
Here’s a shot of my recently finished rockwall scene.
We have an east bound BNSF intermodal, and a west bound ATSF mixed freight as they meet at the crossover bridge.
Here are some projects I’ve been working on.

Excellent! Thanks!
CB&Q - that is a beautiful locomotive! Great weathering job!
Here’s a photo of a bridge under constuction, patterned after the New River bridge approach span at Hwaks Nest WV. Based upon a ME kit it will include a footbridge cantilevered on the right hand side. The abutment at the top is scratch built based upon prototype photos and adjusted to fit the space available, the bottom abutment is a Chooch product. The top abutment is built from wood shapes, covered with gesso and then painted & weathered. Much more to do of course.
thanks!
