Weekend Photo Fun 8/15 to 8/17

Time for Weekend Photo Fun!

Nothing too impressive to start off, I’m afraid. Just a CSX boxcar I bought recently to use in interchange service, as well as my progress making the Wisconsin & Southern weed sprayer train (as seen in Proto Info).

Can’t wait to see what else you’ve all done this week! [:)]

A weed sprayer huh ?

Not a bad idea !

I spent some time this week Scratch building the C&O station at Mt Hope

since I finally found a photo of it

My version

I was busy yesterday making this:

out of this:

So I got a lot of these:

And some kindling for the wood stove next winter.

Now I’ll be able to make more of these for the layout:

Hi All: Nice start for the WE. I dirtied up my yard and loco service areas last week. Before: After: Before: After:

Now the loco and train yard looks real used. Great shots.

No pics yet, but spent a lot this week. Bought 2 locos (Atlas GP38 w/DCC decorated for Rail America and Classic C425 for D-L). I’m gonna do a patch job on the GP38 in the coming weeks and I also want to add DCC to the C425. I’m also hoping to get some scenery done this weekend. Should be interesting. I’ll try to post pics

Only one thing new this week. My fire dept had a callout to one of the switchman shacks.

**Jeff:**I kept meaning to ask, did you do that? Or did a switch short?

A GP-9 being brought into the roundhouse…

Not much new on the MR this week. Had to put my “Basket Case” Yellowstone ‘in the shop’ and fiddle with her Universals, the other day. Got it cured, and here she is on a practice run through Wagon Wheel Gap. She runs nice and smooth, now.

Just one example of why I’ve gone with 34" MINIMUM radius, LOL!

Jacon: Again it;s the people that stick out. Love the scene. The background is a tad fuzzy though, the ------ Company building

Tom: All I can say is summed up in this. PPPPHHHTTT!!!

I modeled it like that. That’s black paint. The roof was distorted with plastic model cement.

Tom

Absolutely marvelous picture, layout and “basket case” Yellowstone. The Yuba sub is a favorite. [tup]

I haven’t done much modeling this summer, so here is an old pic of a Shay drifting downgrade to the yard.

Thanks Morgan, I love getting people in a scene because it kinda sets the scale.

Jarrell

Great work, every1. I couldn’t get to sleep last night, so I built a small loco fueling/sanding rack. It’s not complete, though, No pictures right now, I’m in Florence, but I’ll have some tommorow.

Enjoy this shot:

I only have one picture this weekend. I did some ballasting the other day, and wanted to show it off. (8 out of 9 pictures blurry, lol.)

This is a first layout… Try not to make too much fun.

Uh oh! Looks like Jacon12 is giving Grampy’s Trains a run for his money this weekend!
A huge [bow][bow] to the both of you!
Geared Stream-Great shot! Needs some scratches on it though like old photos have.[tup]

That my friend is an awesome shot. The building is out of focus because his F-stop was not set high. He probably didn’t have enough light. IMHO this guy beats most of us here for modeling skills and your worried about a fuzzy building in the background???

With the help of inspiration from these forums, the likes of Aggro Jones and Robbie P to name a couple I had a go at weathering a Covered Hopper. The original photo I stole from the Walthers site as I didn’t have a before shot.
