Weekend Photo Fun 8/3-8/6

Here is the most “fun” photo from the National Train Show:

It is SHARKS! In a TORNADO… It’s a SHARKNADO!

.

This was on a corner module of a beautiful HOn30 layout. This thing was a crowd favorite. The people love to find Pop-Culture on display layouts, and this one was extra whimsical, but still adored by all.

.

This could not be more appropriate because Sharknado 5 premiers on SyFy tomorrow night! I can’t wait. I hope it is as good a 2 & 3 were.

Sorry for the blurrish photo. I had to leave my good camera at the office so they could record and event on Friday. Had to shoot this one with a cell phone.

I’m happy to report that Bear Jones won his grievance over the seat and it was installed promptly, including an upgrade to an air ride seat base. Also, no surgery was required, so everyone breathed a sigh of relief after that was over[:'(][8D]

More updates on the project are now in its original thread here:

Hi, Peter.

Thanks for the encouragement on the Atomic Cafe [Y]

Here’s a sign you can download and use in your beautiful, new weld shop:

Why do I have a Manfred Mann song in my head??

I have been fascinated with the work of Henry J. Kaiser, too.

Have you seen the 1944 movie “The Man From Frisco” ?

Great movie, as I recall…

Ed, Thanks for the sign and the kind words. Hah, yeah, The Mighty Quinn. I’ll be on the look-out for the “Man from Frisco.” A shot of the old Ford plant in Richmond, Ca., right next door to the Kaiser Shipyard site and the Rosie the Riveter Museum. That day there was a train show going on inside the craneway.

Thanks again and regards, Peter

Most people do not know that “Blinded by the Light” was written and originally recorded by Bruce Springsteen. Manfred Mann’s version came later, and is much shorter than the original.
