| From GP40-2L Buil |
Busy trying to work out a KCS GP40-2L kit bash in N scale. The big arrow points out a scale 1 foot height difference between my Athabasca cab and my Atlas shell. ALso have a Miniatures By Eric wide cab on order, so this may sit until that arrives. Hopefully one of these will work.
Great looking buildings. I think I’m going to post a good shot of my SD40-2 after I did some weathering on it.

My daughter and I installed our “Bella Fonte” cannery (in place of the original Del Monte cannery in Alameda), and poured some “concrete” for the street near it:
Still need to build the concrete loading dock / platform & scenic around the area.
And I found the secret to painting all those tedious & tiny (in N) window sills & jambs:
Have your daughter do it & call it family time!
It’s a win-win! [:D]
ChadM,
I like both the buildings, (To Me) I think #1 looks more natural as a shop, & #2 as perhaps a parts & machine shop? I do like the looks of the buildings, which ones did you use?
I too, have been working on light repair shop, & I found some old leftovers from a couple other Pikestuff kits & made this, a light repair shop, The spare parts made the office/machine shop kickout, using the face wall I cut out of the original 2 stall wall part. It is mounted on a 15-3/4" x36" MDF shelf blank that I peeled the vinyl sheet off of. It awaits grass, ballast, & major detailing.

Just a Tichy flat car that’s been in the works for a while…almost done.

Note that this is NOT strict prototypical. The decals I had are spares from a F & C boxcar set, I applied them as best I could with my limited working knowledge of details like this. I also don’t know if the car itself is appropriate for the CV, or if the road number is even accurate. I know, for instance, the CAPY and LTWT numbers are inaccurate.
However, I don’t really care that much, at this time it’s close enough and I think it “fits” nicely.
Cheers!

Arrgo, love the wreathing on the Y6 b drivers! [Y]
Broke out the camera today.
Looking down the siding of the grain elevator

Finally got my first Athearn engine converted to DCC. Glad I did, runs well.

A unit was a dummy, now it is powered as well. Removed the headlight lens and fitted a LED in he opening. Need to move it back some, sticks out way to far. But sure lights up the track well.

In this picture, if you look real close you will see a Monon Heavy Mike crossing a bridge.

Thank you for looking.
Ken
Good stuff guys. Keep them coming.
Not sure if I posted this one before or not, but here it is anyway.

I’ve made a few changes to my team track scene. Moved the derrick a little and added some figures and other details. It still needs more people and maybe a vehicle or two but I’m getting there.
Keep the photos and ideas coming guys. I always learn something new on this thread.
Only 2 pages on WPF?
It’s been slow all over. And here’s the start of page three.
Chad, I would go with building 2. I find it visually more interesting. The section with the windows could be the shop with a rail access door to move heavy parts directly from the shop to a flatcar using a forklift. The lower part on the left could be an office. The part in back could be the warehouse which does not need windows.
ChadMichaels, I agree with G Paine. From a subjective and aesthetic perspective, the second building is more pleasing visually. The first is probably more prototypical for a modern themed layout, but the second building is much more interesting to look at.
I made my first music video this evening, using old video clips of Sweethome Chicago, and editing them together, colouring them sepia, and adding a Matt Stevens guitar tune from his new album Relic

Jon … That is a great video! Outstanding!
Everybody else… This has been a great WPF. Very good work!
Great work as usual, Jon. I particularly like the choice of music. The slow musical theme matches the slow pace of the trains as they pass through the Sweethome industrial areas.
