well, I will kick off the photo’s this weekend. I have spent the last couple weeks working on the benchwork. I finally have it all in place. Next step is the risers for the elevated sections of track and then I can put down the rest of the plywood and start laying track. Here are few shots of the benchwork.
here is the overall benchwork diagram for reference.
Having trash as if it is blowing around is a nice effect but it can be overdone, especially in a yard. As was pointed out in another thread, freight yards are kept fairly clean so work crews can walk around freely. Rather than being spread around, trash tends to end up in collection areas where it can blow in but won’t blow out. A weed covered hillside might be one example.
I haven’t had much time to do anything train related as it is concert season and I do sound… I have gotten the fascia painted and installed in the new room:
Still have to do some caulking to stop light leaks (you can see a couple in the photos). Purchased 18 more tortoises so you know what I will be doing over the Holidays.
A CNW GP50 and an IANR GP38-2 awaiting their next assignment outside the Jensen City depot
The new location for the grain elevator in Kampton (obviously the track still needs roadbed, and I might have another spur serving the facility as well)
Here is a photo I got from the Elgin TX depot of the brick factory as it appeared about 1952 - my year [:)].
Here on my layout, BLDG1 in the above goes by the label ELGIN BRICK FACTORY. BLDG2 goes in the middle of the cork and BLDG3 goes on side nearest Elgin diamond. Track laying for effect only.
Still have lot’s of cork for the mainline to get down.
Hi all heres some rail faning from where I work sometimes with the company I work for we own the tracks the tank cars are on and we off load the propane to our tanks.

Derailer opened

Flags of nations it travels hey ed and fergie looks like your covered
Some shots from my old layout…My new one will also be around the room, but this time I’m doing more planning, less trackwork, and will use hollow core doors with foam on top. It will be a bridge line connecting the MKT with the CB&Q in Missouri.
I finally got all of the roadbed laid on the new pike. It is becoming eminently clear that management’s goal of having at least part of the line operational by Christmas will not be realized; the CFO has temporarily halted construction (citing cost overruns and revenue shortfalls) and the construction crew has been reassinged to more “seasonal” duties.
Fantastic Jon! I never tire of looking at your work, and now its animated with sound too, great details as always throughout the scene. Thanks for sharing.
The bridge from town over the subway tracks (where they come up out of the tunnel) is installed and ready for traffic. This is a Rix bridge that I shortened:
Here’s Burns Coal and Oil Company, with a tank car making a delivery while a truck makes a pickup.
As always, you’re just a mouse click away from an enlarged version of the picture.
Nice start medic. Nice scenes Mr B. Thanks to all you guys for good pics.
I finally did something you could take a picture of on the Kanyon. Added my first backdrop including a picture we took this summer. Also put some scenery in the Kanyon and started the first falls pool. Here are some pics.
