Time for another WPF. Hoping to see lots-o super Model Railroading images.
Happy Super Bowl weekend. Thanks and regards. Peter
Thanks for starting this week’s WPF, and as always, the photo of your layout work is amazing!
A very clean ethanol plant:
I’m working on an N scale Inglenook layout for my office. My garage turns into an oven for half the year, during which I can’t run my main (On30) layout. To this end, I’m working on a kitbash of an N scale 0-6-2 saddle tank engine:
The explanation in the history of Inglenook Harbour Railroad is that 102 was built from the remains of two engines that had a crash in 1942. With WW2 going on, the railroad couldn’t get the resources to repair both engines. So they quickly put this together in their shops and put it back to work.
Great work all. I’ll share some of mine soon
Good afternoon from cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio!
Here is what I managed to finish this week.
Exactrail Wagon Top Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II Oxide Red paint and lettered with National Scale Car decals.
Finally finished with a NYC GP7 passenger geep, Proto 2000 kit, replaced all the gears and cleaned up the overdone gear lubrication. Painted with Scalecoat II Black Paint and lettered with a combination of Microscale and Accucals decals. Built this unit to pair with my CUT GP9 that I had done previously.
A pair of Rapido FP7’s and F7B with the Canadian, running on the Strongsville Club layout.
Have a great weekend!

Great photos!
Another good looking scene, Peter, to open tha week’s WPF thread.

Fantastic work to all !! thank for posting look forward to seeing them every weekend.
I was surprised today with the following delivery from Accurail…
I had pre-ordered one of these from the NYCSHS a few months back. It was scheduled for an early '25 release…and so it came to pass.
I’ll put it together after I finish assembling my Branchline DT&I AAR boxcar.
Tom
Wow, that is one good looking boxcar.

As a member of Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Society not only do I receive magazines, but a hard back book once a year. This one has just arrived. A multitude of pictures and a lot of information. Information that fits my timescale.
David
Great weathering job, @Heathmiester! Looks like that locomotive has earned its keep.
+1
Wonderful weathering indeed!
I preordered them a while ago and they arrived this week - Scale Trains N scale GP30s. I’m thrilled and also slightly terrified I will break off one of the details by simply looking at them. Barely a month in and the annual model railroad budget is already gone.
Nice work on that Geep! Excellent job with the paint and decals.
A newly completed Branchline Blueprint kit: DT&I 40’ AAR boxcar (with operating doors)…
I temporarily installed the supplied air hoses. However, they just aren’t practical for an “in use” piece of rolling stock because they move when the trucks push against them on curves.
Onto my next project: The earlier posted Accurail PMcK&Y wood boxcar…
Tom
Great stuff from everyone this weekend! Good to see some old faces back! Thanks for setting things up, Peter!
I’ve had this New York Central Brill Gas-Electric since 1997 or so. I got a bit of ‘sticker shock’ when I bought it not knowing what the price would be. All brass back then was ‘pre-order’. Imagine my surprise when the dealer mentioned that it had come in and it was ‘only’ $750! There went the kid’s braces — and shoes for the next year or so, too! It was made by Samhongsa / W&R.
I had a vintage Digitrax DH-121 in there for years and finally decided to upgrade to an ESU Loksound Select Micro for which I had a spare on hand.

By mistake I had bought two too many Scale Sound speakers designed for the Rapido RDC. Well, lucky me, it happens to fit this doodlebug perfectly, nesting up into the clearstory nice and snug.

I replaced the 1.5v grain of molecule headlight lamps with LEDs (a chore!) and LEDs for the ceiling lights, too:

All in all a successful sound install. I used the ESU sound project for the GE 44 tonner with Caterpillar engine. Of all the available sound projects this one suited the gas electric the best and I’m quite happy with it.

She runs smooth as silk and has pickup on all 8 wheels so there was no need for a capacitor.

Great to see so much activity in the renewed forums!
Cheers, Ed
True, a lot of nice, ho-hum stuff every weekend, but I always check in to see Peter’s photos. They never fail to please. And, of course, yours, Ed!
