I bought myself a little Chirstmas present at the LHS Thursday… A P2K C&NW SD7 (yes, I finally got a P2K)
In other news- I’ve almost settled on a trackplan for my industrial town.
What has everyone else been up to this week?

I don’t see the pictures.
How about now?
Much better. Thanks. Weekend Photo Fun isn’t much fun without the Photos.
Congrats on the new engine. Looks like it’s already at home.
Merry Christ-mas.

Yes it is. It’s already got a few hours of run-time. Overall I’m impressed, but now I’ve got an excuse to buy another P2K as the SD7 runs too slow to MU w/ anything else I have.
I’ve been looking for RailBox photos with rust streaks but not graffiti.

Things are busy on the dock at Prestage Tool & Gear.
CB&Q Switcher #9271 pushes CB&Q 40’ boxcar #62984 to the PT&G dock to be loaded.
Sid the dock forman watches as the boxcar comes back.
A MKT boxcar is unloaded at the team track dock.
Then is loaded on a REA truck for delivery.
I want Sids job. Nice pics. I like the story. Mike
Small progress on Kimm’s Kanyon. Here is the first coal train across the trestle, the picture for which the scene was built.
Here is my first attempt at a backdrop.
Very nice Art. So far I’ve resisted anything fancy because I know painting isn’t something I am good at. Speaking of which, how did you color the rocks in your canyon ? Is that brushed on acrylic or sprayed on ? And do you know what color of paint the begie area is colored with ?
Thanks Jeff. Don’t be afraid, I’m no artist, just daring and persistant. The Kanyon is painted with latex house paint, light cream and then many washes of artist’s acrylics. Black washes at the end to get shadows. For ground cover I use white and the umbers and seinnas. I make them up as I go along. Its all put on with the largerst brush I can get into any area.
Arthill, Very nice work.
The backdrop looks great. Your clouds seem a bit dark to me but they are convincing as you stayed consistant.
The far mountain in the backrop looks like a photograph, so fess up. If you painted it WOW, give us clinic.
The first photo of Kimms Kanyon is a bit upsetting as I named a canyon on my layout for my daughter Kimmy, Kim’s Kanyon. So I guess I will have to come up with something different or a variation of that. The picture and canyon itself are inspiring but in watching your progress I have always wondered what you will do with that curve that shows on the left of the photo. I can see the subroadbed. Will this be a cliff hugging curve or hidden?
Not real photogenic, but…
THE TRAINS ARE RUNNING!!! YAHOO!
Ahem, sorry, got a little carried away there…[:D]
Pics of my N scale layout. I managed to get the main loop up and running for a party the other evening. It only has two feeders (DCC) for the whole loop, but I can at least run a few trains and visualize things to come.

Since this is the weekend B4 Christmas, I thought I’d take a shot of what’s currently running under the tree:
I think Santa might be bringing some trains for my boys, so stay tuned for the “after” shot.
Merry Christmas everyone!

ART, I love the canyon I have been waiting on some pics, I figured you would post some when you got that far along. I also like the background pics especially the purple mountain, I was wanting to do something like that on mine and may still yet. Keep up the great work and post some more pics. Merry Christmas…Mike
Spidge, Thanks. Yes the pic od Mt St Helens is a photo I took this fall and used Huge Pictures to get the right size. Congratulationsa to your daughter for having her own canyon. We also have daughter in law named Kim, but our daughter Kimm, started using two "m"s in jr hi so we can keep them straight. Anyway, Kim’s Kanyon is still availible as a name and I’m glad you have it.
The track refered to is the enterence to the Redikulus mountains and will be a rock ledge.
Have a good Christmas guys.
