The turntable uses a 1/4" mono audio jack as pivot and juice feeder, but relies on washers under the ends of the bridge to ride smooth on the pit rail to provide stability and accurate alignment.
Digitrax AR1 for autoreversing (works great).
Wow! So much great modeling going on around here! Nice folks!
I have still been doing a lot of very unphotogenic stuff on the layout. I did, however do a bit of upgrading of a trestle bridge over a gorge that I built about a decade ago. Added some supports and tried something to see if it would work. Used “O” scale rivets as bolt heads on the timbers. Most did well, but I see some either got rubbed off or fell off when I used Dullcoat to seal them in place. Easy fix…
It is just setting in place for the moment. Still have a lot of stuff to do in this scene.
Some really awesome pics this week. Here are a few recent projects.
Loafing at Red Mountain station while waiting for a train. Adding just a few people really enlivens a scene that’s far from finished.
My Herpa hydraulic boom arrived and is now installed on the Gold Prince Mill’s tramway tower Oshkosh service truck.
The brown car on the left, D&RGW 180, may be the only HOn3 RBL in the world. Totally imaginary, but it was a fun bash.
The is a Grandt Line Valley Feed & Seed. It’s being transformed into Mable’s. She handles the provision contract for the loggers, as well as having plenty of cold suds on tap.
Some nice work guys! Just some progress from a few weeks ago, I have put ballast down since the photo. Increased the radius to 30 inches as a DDA40X is coming soon!
Here is the completed Moloco GATC RBL boxcar after I have added all the ladders, brake wheel, housing, sill steps, and door detail. It is now ready to be washed and painted.
