WEEKEND PHOTO FUN: July 9th

Everyones stuff looks real good. here is my imput today

Great work everybody!!

Fantastic pics everyone!

I haven’t had much time to take pics this week but we did get to go to a train show in Huntsville today. Our SD7 got a Digitrax chip and I installed it tonight. We bought a D&RGW auto boxcar and weathered it tonight and also got an Athearn BB F7 A/B set. I installed a Digitrax chip in the A unit, the B is a dummy. We’ve become used to more detailed models, but someone put some time into this A unit. It has brass grab irons added. The set was $25 and almost new so they found a new home.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Arggo-Very nice[:)]I was looking for the steam

That is one f***ing amazing bridge, Art !

I ordered one like it a couple weeks ago and should be getting it soon. I hope mine turns out as well as yours.

I am SO excited…I have the first pics of the rest of my layout instead of just the yard!!!

Here they are:

you can see the lead to the yard to the left. It will go around the back up a 2% grade and to the other side where it will circle down around a mountain. My roundhouse and turn table will be located where they are shown along with a yard next to them.

My river! The yard track will be 4 inces off of the ground here and it will span the river with a tressell

The yard track will join in to the main at the turn out on the rear track after extending another 5 feet and desending from 6 inches

Here is where the mountain will be and the yard track will desend around a curve on the mountain

The first run. I only have one spot to smooth out which will take about 5 minutes.

Now all I need is to make my grade and buy the rest of my track and lay it. After that I wire and ballast

No. Look in “Update your profile” and scroll down to your signature. Include the URL , and plus the normal coding fore and aft ,in the space with your signature, and it will appear there. Note that it will not be the expandable version.

YES! WE HAVE DONE IT! dad &i have finaly wired our 10x2 HO switching layout in DCC! and i must admit, WE LOVE IT! i know…iknow, most of you are saying, so what. well let me tell you, for us its a big deal. dad has been in DC for 40yrs, and i, 31yrs(i was about 9 and had my first layout)DC. so DCC was a new to both of us. i cant tell you how easy it really was. we bought 2 atlas DCC ready engines,CNW for dad,UP(of course)for me. we went with MRC DCC and are 110% happy with it! the sad thing is we havent touched the N empire in about 3 mounths, and it will probably be a while now before we will[;)].

lginc,

Hey, congratulations to both you and dad! That’s great!! [^] I think you made a wise choice to go DCC. I have had it for only about 5 months and have NO regrets. It just makes more sense…

Tom

Chateauricher-
Awesome work with the bridge! Is that kit difficult to assemble (I was thinking of buying one for modification)?

Good job everyone! I will try to get some pics up next week. I was at railroad days all Saturday and did not get a chance.

Well here are a few from my old layout
I never made it to scenery stage but I could run trains.
I have dismantled this layout and started a new one.

That bridge is AMAZING!!![:)][:)][:)][:)]

Here is one more for this weekend

Colorful Consist…

Hi folks,

Some construction on the Road to Nowhere:

Art–WOWSER! That bridge is in a spectacular location!
Steve–How can I eat my heart out? Art and I have been comparing notes on ‘our’ Beichstahl bridges for a couple of months now, lol!
Here’s mine with a reefer train going over:

Just got back from train-riding in the Santa Cruz area–forgot to re-set the camera, so all of the pics turned out WAY too bright! Oh well–
Here’s a photo of my work train at Wagon Wheel Gap. It’s taking the outside siding because there’s a rumor that a troop train is going to slam through in about ten minutes.

Great shots, everyone–I’ll have some more to post by next weekend.
Tom [:P][:P]

I’d love to take credit for that bridge; but its actually ArtHill’s, not mine.

I have ordered an N-scale version which should arrive in the next week or two. I have no idea how difficult it is to assemble. I suppose it would be a good idea to read the instructions first. [swg] I can only hope that I can build one as nice as Art’s. Twhite’s version is spectacular as well.

Here’s mine, my CSX turbine and EF-58 electric on the Sykesville and Patapsco’s club layout.

Just thought I would post another pic of my recently completed “foliage wall”. I’m excited about it, I can’t help it!!

Art, I must agree with everyone else. That bridge looks incredible!! [:D]
