Time for WPF, get those shutters a clickin’ and don’t be chicken’, hoping to see lots-o Model Railroading pics. Regards, Peter
Not much yet on this building. This was one of the first buildings I got on my first layout. It’s from RIX and I liked this style since my layout is modern time. This and another RIX building like it convinced me I could scratch-build rather than buy. I saved this building from the first layout. It still has lots of work to do – I’m not even sure yet what the building’s business will be.
Peter Thanks for starting WPF. Another hallmark scene. Well done.
York1John The scenery is coming along in leaps and bounds. Well done.
A cold evening

Great to see everyone’s weekend time with their layouts. Today was “Golden Spike” day on my garden railway, the St.Vrain Western. The first train was pulled by my late Grandfather’s Bachmann 2-6-0, with a combine he had scratchbuilt. It was nice to get it up and running. Also nice to work in something a bit larger than N scale for a change.
Great shot, Peter! Just reeks of “atmosphere.”
Here’s what I’ve been up to - benchwork for the Cody branch. Not much atmosphere here!
Thanks for another great WPF, Peter! Such a moody cityscape there. Perhaps that second story window could use some curtains? — or not
Excellent contributions everyone!
Somewhat of a continuation on my Union Station platforms I have decided to add some ‘miniscule’ PRR style position light dwarf signals to the approach tracks. I bought these years ago from a seller on Shapeways and managed to get one put together back then. I decided to revisit the assembly procedure which is very tedious to say the least!
Here are the parts laid out next to an HO figure.

Each signal is capable of four aspects but I’m going the simple route and only wiring for two since my primary function here is turnout indication. So I have ‘Stop Signal’ and either slow clear or medium approach.
Here they are installed on bases. As tiny as these things are they’re still a bit larger than the prototype ones.

They’re difficult to photograph without them looking like a supernova. I have 10KΩ resistors and the LEDs are series wired. This view shows four of them:

As you can see they’re only a little larger than your average cat!

On to more fun stuff!

After last week’s photo, I decided to have some WPF by tidying things up - just a bit, i.e. moving all the junk from one Dog-bone to the other.
Also, I felt my Layout deserved a treat, as well being owed an explanation, so we had a talk together - about things like too tight a Radius and Reverse Curves.
Paul.
John, Creative fun ahead with your scratch built blank canvas of sorts, the open door provides a lot of interior display space.
David, Indeed, 1042 is a handsome steed.
Nice shots Heathmiester.
NewBNguy, No doubt, Those WM F’s and matching caboose are pretty.
Casey_Dowling, Congrats on the ‘Golden Spike’. A wonderful outdoor railroad, and even more wonderful is having your Grandfather’s train rolling down the tracks.
Pruitt, The ripped plywood and cleats look sound.
Ed, Diggin’ your scene, dwarf signals and dexterity. Btw, your wall sign reminds of the Maico motorcycle factory in Germany once having a Dinkelacker vending machine in the break room. ‘Maico breako’?
asardaro, Quite satisfying is firing up the sound chip after a successful install.
Paul, Lookin’ good. My layout keeps telling me it needs spring cleaning, but summer’s almost here.
Thanks to all the contributors and viewers. Have a good week. Regards, Peter
