Love the modeling!

@NorthBrit, is your layout HO?

No, it is 00 gauge, but has a small number of HO items on it.

Peter, thanks for starting another WPF!

This strip mall was on the old layout. I saved the building and I’m working on getting it onto the new layout.

Its a start.

I got the first wall for my Sheetz printed. Its a failure (layer separation on the back), but at least i know it’ll print and it looks good

Cutting in the ballasted deck bridge west end of Sleepy Eye MN. Lots of figuring out landscape now. Getting it as close as i can to the real thing.

I did some backdating on these SCL SD45s yesterday by removing some Seaboard System patches and applying the “Pulling For You!” decals. Back in service!

Hi, my bit of WPF - with a slight difference.

Today I was a at Vogrie Park, just south of Edinburgh, Scotland.
We run Passenger Train rides for Parents and Kids around a large loop of track, in the Park.
This raises money for upkeep of the track and our Model Engineering hobby Workshop.

I designed and built ‘Shunter’ in 1996, for the 7-1/4" Gauge Society AGM, held that year at Comrie in Scotland.
At 29 years old, she is battered and bruised - but still going strong, all original.
She took me 6 months of spare time and apart from the 24V DC Gearmotor, Control Unit, Materials and Fixings - she is entirely handmade.
For the Side-panels, I had to use the only Louvre-punch we had which was way over scale. The Shell is fabricated from 1.5mm Aluminium and bonded with 2-Pack Adhesive.
The Chassis is 4mm Steel (should have been 3mm) and the Wheels are Plasma-cut rings with welded Bosses, Spokes and Filler.
From the Rear Gearbox the Jackshafts drives the Coupling the Rods. Brakes are dummy.

‘Shunter’ is based on a Drewry class 04 Diesel Mechanical Shunter (Switcher) and these weigh in with a phenomenal 204 HP.
When I explained to a work-buddy that she was the same type of Loco as ‘Mavis’, from ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’, he commented - “there is only you who could build a Loco named after the Managing Director’s wife”.

D2280 was retired by British Railways in the early 1970s, the Ford Motor Car Co. purchased her for duties at their Dagenham Factory.
She is now based at the ‘Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’ preservation (Tourist) line.

Finally, one for Bear. We put out soft toys in the Woodland area and the kids have to count them. They enjoy it very much and it is always nice to see.

I realize this is not Model Railroads, but it was part of my Weekend, Photos and it was Fun. Paul.

Ok. This thing will NEVER qualify as a scale model but, I cobbled it together several years ago just because. It’s an answer to the question NOBODY ever asked at any time in the 200+ year history of railroading: “What would it have looked like if N & W had applied streamlining to it’s station switchers?” similar to the way Southern Pacific dressed up their 0-6-0’s.

Anyhow. Oil fired 2-4-0 number 1100 (loosely , and I do mean loosely, based on N & W’s M1a) has streamlined skirting that was just inkjet printing on glossy photo paper. Notice how much the previous graphics have faded in only about 2 years time. So it’s time to replace them.

Liking John’s strip-mall USA.

Same to you David, some of your layout scenes remind me of watching ‘Shining Time Station’ with my son when he was a boy, joyous times.

3D design & printing is greek to me Jimmy, but what a handy way to drum-up scratch parts, or an entire structure.

lookin’ good Heathmiester, and now for the real fun.

Ahh yes, DFF’s SCL amidst springtime blooms. And, what’s not to love about tompmrr’s handsome E8’s

I don’t know Paul, seems like model railroading to me, but bigger and a lot more metal. What a nice day for fun railroading with special regard for the kids.

Nice shots Ed, btw, like that gas holder in the background. And, Pennytrains shows that ‘just because’ is fun too.

Thanks to all the contributors and viewers. Have a good week ahead. Regards, Peter
