Weekend Photo Fun Nov 25-27

Here is a Kato SD45 that I added detail parts to such as MU hoses, Signal Control Box, Lift Rings, Marker Lights, Sinclair Antenna. Also in locating the Signal Control Box in front of the Engineer, I filled the holes of the grabs on that side and drilled new ones on the fireman’s side. Painted with Scalecoat II Black paint and lettered with Microscale’s PC Set and Diesel Detailing Set.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice SD45. This past week I tore out a curved section of track to widen the radius which required me to remove the tunnel/mountain. I also had to decide what to do with the old section of track bed as it wasn’t practical to remove all of it.

Rick,

Very nice SD’s. Especially the ol’Penn Central.

Rick… I can tell you spent a lot of time on the SD45, and I like the results.

Curt … Very nice layout.

Here is a view of my fictional town of “Blackhawk”. Normally, it is a railfan’s delight with plenty of activity. Today is no exception.

The GN FA’s by Proto 2000 had wheelsets replaced last year due to the cracked gear problem, and they run fine now.

Views from the now completed Christmas Tree Central. The stream locomotive is a Proto2000 0-6-0 running on 15" radius curves under the tree. The blueness of the lighting is the result of my Christmas tree having all blue lights on it. The small tracks are Kato N Scale tracks with Kato Amtrak equipment.

Nice job on the rework, Curt. Garry, I really like that scene, esp. the Alco’s.

Just a yard shot with a trio of switchers. DJ.

Cool Pennsy shot DJ…looks like a shot that could be found in one of those PRR books out there.

Here is a Korber O scale structure with custom logo I built on commission for a local guy earlier this week:

Just finished my drag line Kit from Rio Grand models

it’s a fun kit

Hey Guys. [:)]

I took some time this week to build some loads.
For the ballast cars (4) I cut a block of foam, painted it light gray and sprinkled some ballast on it so that the paint locked it in place.

On the scrap car I took a lot of old plastic wheels and cut the axles off glued them to a thick corrugated cardboard so there would not need so many. I sprayed them with automotive red primer, dry brushed lightly and touched the axle hubs with silver to simulate the new cut.
May not be perfect, but I’ll go with it.

What do you’all think? Have fun. [:-^] In case you didn’t notice the bottom picture is Proto.

I enjoyed Curt Webb’s creative rework.

That’s making real good of a quandary.

Reminds me of a scene I saw in Philadelphia this summer behind the Rodin nArt Museum.

I finally finished the first part of my winter scenery section, the town of Frostbite Falls. I’ve been doing some home remodeling the past several months and not working on the railroad. Here’s a few pics of the east end of town where the tracks cross in front of the dam.

I am almost done with my the Valley Cement Plant. I had to modify it some to fit in my layout and I still have a few minor things I want to do in the way detailing. I also incorporated the Pioneer Asphalt plant into it. And yes I know the 3 bay hoppers should not be there but until I get some 2 bay hoppers they will have to do.

I love the snow scene George! Well done.

This week I completed the striping on my recent road project. And also got some ground cover done.

Planted some more trees a few days ago and have another dozen almost ready to be planted. The locomotive is the Bachmann 3-Truck Climax pulling a string of log cars.

Well in anticipation of moving I tore down the old layout and will be taking it to the dump tomorrow.

My next layout will be more moveable…

My freight house is almost done…

Scarpia, I love your last photo1 Wow! [8D][Y]

Well, it finally arrived. We heard about a Canadian Pacific excursion headed by a large T1c 2-10-4 Selkirk coming to Seneca Falls. After lengthy negotiations and some exchange of a few coins (do I hear a horse choking!?), the powers that be finally allowed the monster to come through Seneca Sub. Here it is, caught on my favourite spot:

Crandell

Congrats Crandell!!! Excellent shot too!

George - Great work! I particularly like this shot.
