Well… The best thread of the week seems to have stalled on the grade. So lets help it get moving again!
I have had a few minutes now and then to get a bit more scenery done on the new area. Still waiting on the lumber to arrive so I can finish the pasture fencing. i understand it is now on a truck heading East from the state of Washington… Should be here in the Finger Lakes some time next week and then I can get back at it in earnest.
First a photo of the area right after it had some earth (paint) put down on the plaster:
Then ground cover was added:
Now a forest seems to have grown up beside the tracks:
I ‘m thinking Mike that you need to be showcasing your standard gauge stuff more, this tempting narrow gauge stuff is like the Sirens call; then George rubs it in further with his 1:1 NG photo.[sigh] [(-D]
Tony, your investment in those LEDs has paid off i
This is actually from last week. My club was set up at a small-ish show last weekend.
Not my train, but it was running slow enough that the shutter on the phone didn’t make it blurry. Still have a lot to do on the module, but considering it didn’t even exist five months ago, I’m in pretty good shape!
A friend of mine made a couple of those Borden Butter Dish resin kits a couple of years ago, I do not remenber the mfr. From what he said about it, that kit probably is not one to tackle as a first resin kit. I would suggest a boxcar, just to get a feel of working with the material and how they get put together.
They make a very good quality kit but as noted—there is a learning curve. Resin has to be cemented with epoxy or ACC. For some specific cars though, resin is the only affordable choice.
