Weekend Photo Fun, WPF May 13-15

Excellent photos everyone. I am going to post something similar like my last WPF posting two weeks ago.

I improved the lighting on one of my InterMountain GEVOs by removing a couple of resistors on the headlights and replacing the LEDs on the ditch lights. I left the number board lights alone.

Great work, everyone! Congrats on getting “published,” Robby - that’s good for at least a few years of bragging rights! [:D]

I’ve been working on my SCL U36B this week. Finally got all the decaling done. Just put on the brake wheel and handrails prior to taking this photo.

Finally got my mainline complete. Did this short video showing the mostly-continuous grade demonstration. The kids love this trick! (a few vids of my new Amtrak locos as well just completed on there too)

And here are two of the new Amtrak Heritage units I just finished in action. (both with sound)

Thanks for the comments!! I’m very happy with it being in this months edition!! Maybe oneday I can do a “weathering” tutorial.

I’ve finished a Grandt Line kit wheel and tie car:

The swamp at the end of Beaver Street in Moose Bay has been taking up all my modeling time for the last month or so. I’ve got 2 more layers of Envirotex to pour, which will raise the water level up a bit higher on the legs of Ms. Moose here.

The cattails are Walthers Botanicals, and the moose came from Musket Minatures. I got the beavers there, too, but they’re not in place yet. Their dam, however, has been catching deadfall on the left.

Great work all! A big shout-out to Robby for making Trackside Photos!

Well, I had a vid last week, but I finally took some good old pics. First up is the bed for Clay Creek. I laid the switch across to show the tracks; I have a scratchbashed bridge made from a code 80 Atlas bridge in the works.

Next up is the Clay Creek Industrial Park. In the back is a plastic pellet distributor; up front I’m not sure, and the middle industry is still in limbo.

Finally here’s the latest work on the corner. I bought some Tempra paint at Hobby Lobby (couldn’t find any acrylic at wally world). It’s a bit bright, but I’ll try toning it down. Also painted some grass; I’ll be putting bushes over that and we’ll see how it looks.

Great photos, everybody.

Chad … Thanks for starting WPF

ROBBY !!! … CONGRATS on MR Trackside Photos!.. Bravo! [tup]

Where’s DJ? (Grampy) … I hope his Pennsy is not oin strike.

Great Job, Everyone!

Here, PL&M C4 2-8-0 572 passes by laundry hanging in Willa, WV, in 1958.

With such a scene I can’t resist taking pictures. [:)]

I got a couple new Excatrail UP reefers. They look great but I got one where the wheels don’t roll as freely as it should.

At the frieght depot…

The new layout is looking real good Jeffrey!

Put together a cab to go with last weekend’s ATSF Geep so I have a Colorado-themed set to run on the club layout in Denver, as opposed to my Appalachian models at home.

Kudos to all, everyone has some really awesome stuff. One of these days I’ll sign-up on photobucket.

I don’t have any pics, but I spent the weekend: installing a new digitrax xtra, digitrax ar-1, kadee #5’s and intermountain 33" wheels. I built a drawer for the command station which slides out from under the layout for use, the drawer also contains the programming track.

The digitrax xtra was a sinch to install (I even changed most of the CV’s I intended to); I think I have the ar-1 fine tuned; the couplers turned out better than I expected (I bought 10 pair and ran out, so I’ll need to go buy more); I was looking for kadee wheels ( I figured if the couplers were great, then their wheels must be just as great) but my LHS didn’t have any. He had a 100 pack of intermountain railways metal wheels for $60 so I bought them to see how they worked, I’m pretty impressed with them so far.

My young fella went on his first real train ride this weekend and I took the opertunity to grab a short video of the train pulling into the station and a couple quick pictures

Pick up a truck tuner. That should fix your rolling problem
