Weekend Photo Fun

ITS STEAM MADNESS!!!

“Bridge Crusher”, Better known as my Lionel blow-out UP Challenger.

The BIG AC-5. I love this angle on the Cab-forwards!

An N&W Y3 2-8-8-2. A compact powerhouse.

Spectrum SP Heavy 4-8-2. The road number suggest its an MT-5. HA!

The “A” class. Straight elegant! Another blow-out aquirement.

AggroJones:

Thanks for sharing those nice pictures, you are really good! [:D]

Aggro, I dost protest.

I charge you with being an exceptional model railroader, You have consistently shown that your talent is high and are not shy about sharing your knowledge, you consistently give praise to your fellow modelers for their good work, and are generally an unstoppable model railroading machine.

to these charges, how do you plead?

James.

Hi Guys

Mountain front with a giant visitor

Not from just this weekend, but over the past year of beginning modeling and layout construction,.

I took down my 4x8 and have started construction on the 10x10 “U” shaped layout. Here is the framing of the benchwork. Sorry about the clutter I ran out of rooms to put the stuff that was in my train room so i left it.[:I] I am using steel studs because they are easy to work with and go up fast. I will also be adding cross pieces in every 2 feet.

Nice pics guys!!!

Geeps switching…

Power on standby. It’s 1965 and the GP35 is fresh from EMD. It won’t be long before it looks like the rest!

A Grande F3 waits for empties to load at a coal mine west of Wigwam, Co. There aren’t many advantages of being the employee that does the roof jobs at the mine but this is one of them! (The scene is new, grade crossings to come)…

ADAM, the benchwork look’s very good, keep us up to date on progress,
AGGRO, i have made 20 tree’s to your spec from bamboo scewers, coudn’t find the filter material but i found out hanging flower basket material is similar but tree green coloured so there’s no painting required except for the trunk, GREAT STUFF[tup]

Great photos, guys. I’d join you, but unfortunately my digital camera decided to self-destruct, and I’ve got to balance the budget to get another one. [xx(][xx(] So until then, the Yuba River Sub has to limp on with what I’ve already taken. And here I was, all ready to snap some photos of my off-line ‘borrowed’ power. Oh well–
But great photos!
Tom[bow]

Tom, condolences on your dead digi-cam…[:(]

Adam, I see your metal benchwork is movin’ right along! My garage is cluttered too - free time is too precious and scarce to ‘doctor up’ a work area just to take pictures. A ‘neat & tidy’ construction zone? Kinda goes against nature in my estimation![:D]

ac4400, that oncoming E-unit was parked and waiting for a ‘proceed’ signal, right? Surely you didn’t stand in front of a moving train…![;)]

grande man, I always loved the simple elegance of the DRGW black & orange - my private road is like a ‘negative’ of that scheme (orange with black tiger stripes).

cwaldman, great work - looks like you been taking lessons from Sellios![tup]

Nice work everyone!

Cletus, that definately has some George Sellios styling!

Oh yeah…Aggro, your stuff is always great, what could I say about your work that hasn’t already been said?

Today was my birthday and my wife let me play trains all day.
This is what I spent all day building. I wore out to batery on my cordless drill. I still have sone finishing touches yet but not too bad for a bodyman. Me and wood do not do well toghether.

Well, My Old West town is getting closer thanks to eBay. I do have a lot of painting and weathering to do because I’m not sure, but I don’t think they had many plastic buildings in the old West. There are several in the Craftsman boxes in line to be built. Then it’s weathering and landscaping.

Been work’in on a destination for my coal trains today. The ballast is still damp! Here goes…

GP30’s at the front of a coal drag arrive at Tri State Power.

Same train with a consist of two GP30’s an a GP35 on approach to the plant.

One more approach shot.

Hey, Sledgehammer, I think you are doing just fine. Way more ambitious woodwork than I have ever undertaken! [tup]

Gotta agree. But if it was mine, I’d probably do a lot more ducking than lifting. Looks good.

As Aggro jones said…it’s steam madness!..my MRR buddy, Ken, came over today and he brought his 4-8-4 UP Northern
over and ran it on my layout…here’s the pics…chuck

I made “Val’s Hamburger Stand” from the JL Innovative line of laser kits. Still needs to be weathered and obviously still need to do the scenery. I plan a small concrete pad for customers and a few weeds. I will probably light and do the interior as well as there are such large windows.
