Weekend Photo Fun

Well, it’s that time again. Didn’t get much done this week on the diarama, but have got a couple bushes and shrubs growing. As long as it’s taking to do this diarama, I can only imagine how much time most of you have spent on your layouts to get them as far as they are…My hats off to everyone for the work you have done.

ok guys, time to strut your stuff[:D][:D][:D]

No modelling this week but i did see this small diesel switcher at work on the Ribble steam railway in Preston UK, it had just run 6 100 ton tankers up to the main line connection, i only caught it on its return today

My first weathering project under the name Appalachian Weathering and ModelWorks.

WOW! Those rocks look great! What technique are you useing to make those?

I look forward to this topic every week, because you guys put some really awsome looking pics on here! I don’t have any new pics this time, but medic that diarama is looking pretty sweet! Keep it up! [tup]

I have been working on a little scene of a forgoten 0-6-0, I cant seem to get the weeds like I want them so I will keep trying but here is a pic so you can get an idea…

WOW!

thanks for the compliments guys…

loathar,
the rocks are made from suspend style ceiling tiles. just break them up. you want to keep the jagged edge look. then glue them down and paint them. It was a lot easier than I thought, but the results speak for themselves. I was very impressed with the way they look.

Medic,

The rocks are cool. I may go that route on part of my layout.

upscsx,

Where I come from SBD stood for Silent, But Deadly. I guess that train won’t get a Soundrtax, eh?

I’m hoping to get a few shots in this week–it’s been a month or so. Anyone want to form a pool?

Steve, is that a side rod diesel? They are just the coolest little switchers.[:D]

Adam, GREAT WORK on that little scene. It reminds me of the steamer I saw behind the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum. Maybe you could try putting some vines up the boiler, since it has apparently been there for a while. And maybe some weeds between the rails too. But it does look great as it is.[tup]

Adam, nice scrapper [;)], is this the same layout we saw you posting pictures of your building it only a few weeks ago? If so…Wow you are quick and doing well [tup]

Talk about youthful energy.

Cheese3,

That looks wonderful… great work Sir, simple great! I’m sure you’ll get the weeds just perfect.

Messing with my new camera, having fits with depth of field, also I need to get that new lighting kit that Fundy uses [8D]

Oops! Well he is train related, he guards the door to the train room [:0]

yup it is the same one, I only have 2 more days of being able to work on it all day before i have to go back to school.[:(!]

and thanks for the comments everyone[:)]

First run for my Athearn coaches, and a rare outing for the Tyco engines. P1K DL-109 in backround. Old layout.Nothing detailed yet.

GP35 led freight waits on a siding. Trackside rail detail is new this week.

And the weeks big news… [:D]

Today I got the program track wired, an additional feeder installed to a back section of track and our old MRC decoders programmed (after much ado).

Where did your empire get all this money? First ties laying all over the ROW, then new electronics for all the engines and now I see welded rail either going in or coming out!!! I sense some grant money.[:D]

Cheese, GREAT scene. I know what you are saying regarding the weeds, have you thought about Silfor grass? It may be the product you are looking for.

My wife thinks the “grant money” is gonna land us in the poor house… [:D]
