Weekend Photo Fun!

When my daughter really did that, I escaped the broken arm, but the new front end parts have still not arrived from BLI.

ARTHILL that is very cool. I can’t wait to see what your final result will be. That canyon looks deep. How far off of the canyon is the bridge?

The canyon is 7 feet deep, floor to ceiling. The high bridge is 5 feet, the trestle to be is about 3 1/2 feet off the floor. One of the challenges I am enjoying is the forced perspective to give the two falls a proper look of distance. The lower falls is from Yellowstone. The high falls is Yosemite, sort of.

Interesting. I can see how you are going to create the illusion, very cool. As for the floor to ceiling scenery…that will be neat. Is the valley going to have walk-in access?

Wow, you guys have been busy. Its nice to have been around for awhile now to watch some of these layouts progress. Its pretty cool!

Here are my 2 photos for the weekend. I was able to get some good train time this morning and last nite. Its getting hard to walk that fine line between a “temporay layout” and goign nuts on the scenery. I look at the othe rpictures and I want to go all out on mine! [:)].

I got on a tree kick and made about 15 more. I think I am just about good hear. Maybe be a few more. I think some are to big for scale (atleast for Arizona trees) but they are just striking. This is the firs tpart of the layout people see. It makes a big impression.

And after a year, I finally got around to doing the scenry on the Hunter Junction Tower. In 1956, this tower guarded the William Hunter Line that leads to the north, up the Santa Fe line up Around Flagstaff. In 2006, (pictured) the tower has been kept, and functions as the East Side Industrail office for the KVR.

I plan on haveing some fun with this scene doing some more detail work. Alot of operation take splace here (wharehouse in the background) and it will get alot looks.

Is that water tower really leaning over that far or is is some sort of camera angle deal?

I was able to pick up my MP-15DC today… here it poses with it’s stablemates:

The sound is absolutely awesome…

I spent the last couple days laying track in preparation for it’s arrival - here is “Minto Siding” now known as “staging area south.”

Some fool decided to get into this shot, with the soup cans “holding down the main” at Minto Siding. The drill is on top of the curved switch at the south end.

Not, I promise its straight and level. I guess it is just a bad camera angle.

i got nothing to show this weekend [:(] but alot of nice shots in here keep up all the good work!

This is a different kind of train photo. I was in a train shop in Strassburg, Pa. last week and came across a beautiful pewter work of art depicting a Indian (Native American) attack on the iron horse. I asked the owner if I could photograph it and he said yes. In Photoshop I took out the busy background and substituted a more suitable ‘sky’. Since the pewter is so close to black and white I went ahead and converted the image to full black and white.

The sculpture sold for $3,500 U.S. and it was super!

My contribution for the weekend. I’m being pulled out of the house to attend a neighborhood cookout, will return to “gush” later.

Hi Guys! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! not much going on here cause im working so so much but

How about a little PA, Power

Have a Great Weekend guys

Carl…

Nice pics, everyone, Art love that trestle and canyon, big time. Here’s a pic of a box car I just completed for my private road name. Coupled to a CF7 of the same.

Today marks a milestone for me. I have the lower level staging yard started and while waiting on some more TOs to finish it, I decided to continue and drop the feeder wires and of course just had to apply power, you know … to see if it worked and so …

“Plywood central” now lives for the Taylor-Smithville Line.
I decided to solder feeders to each TO and to each straight section. I did not solder the joiners as almost every straight here is connected to a TO. I thought it best to heed the advice that the TO is where I will most likely see problems. So far, so good. And, I also followed up a few good threads on soldering. Thanks to those, this job wasn’t too bad.

Dismantled old test are track. This is a picture from last Nov.

and now have the start of a crew area [;)]

Tom,

The yard is looking good! If I ever finish digging out from underneath all of the snow up here in Yellowstone National Park, I’ll head home to Texas and come by for a look-see! I’ve had some good times getting some railfan photos at different spots around the country.

See you soon,

Don Z.

I’ve been working on scenery this week.
