Weekend photo fun

Hey all, some really bad photo’s, please use your imagination.

Local steam society turning their 2-8-8-2 for another excursion.

Cat Dealer refuelling before another delivery of equipment.

Overview of the yard service area so far. Partly designed by CJCresent and sort my prototype ( no roundhouse )

Ken.

Lookn’ good there.

OK…let’s see if I have this posting of images thing down two weeks in a row, or not!

Below is an HO model of a barge-mounted piledriver I built a while back. It’s almost totally scratchbuilt, save for some of the marine details (billets (sp?), etc.) and the Prieser figures. I based it on FSM’s model, using just an ad illustration that appeared in RMC to go on.

Here’s a tighter shot of the deckhouse area, better showing the superdetailing work on the model. Eventually, the barge will occupy a place in a harbor scene on my layout (gotta finish my big urban expanse first).

Dang! I did post properly again!

CNJ831

CNJ831, scratchbuilt from an illustration … I only hope I can be that good one day.

Built my first control panel. Not finished yet but progressing.

Got through installing crossing signals this morning…They are by TOMAR industries and use red LED’s

This is the circuit that drives the signals. Top left - I used a DALEE 12V DC voltage filter.
Bottom left - A DALLEE current detection typeTrain detection circuit. Top right- a CIRCUITRON FL-2 oscillating flasher circuit. Far right- a set of 330 and 68 ohm resistors wired in series to create a 398 ohm resistance for the red LED signal lights.
the terminal junctions came from (radio trash) i mean radio shack.

Train leaving the yard which sets off the signals automatically when it enters the block wired to the signal circuit.

I finally have something to post on the Weekend Photo Fun! My first section of the new layout is up and running. Some of the track is still temporary, but it’s looking good!

This is Hawksbill Station. It is a small yard with the engine facilities for serving the west end of the railroad. The pictures show the MOW storage track and engine house.

Of course all that track laying requires a good bulldozer. [:D]

My project for this weekend is to fini***he yard wiring and start ballasting the track.

Okay guys, this is my contribution for the weekend.

Here are some scenery pictures. Still a work in progress.

Gotta start growing some trees …

Didn’t do much this wekk- but I got a pic of my IHC 2-6-0

This is my contribution to the weekend fun.

Looks like someone was asleep at the Helm on the last pic hahaha
“now was that a right turn or a left turn on this dead end?”

I’ve gone underground, working in the Penny Lane station of the Moose Bay Transit Authority. The job is almost done, and some of the guys on the construction crew posed for this group photo:

As soon as the station opened, passengers started coming down the stairs. This is one of the young ladies from the Preiser family:

For those who like to play the Over and Under, here we see both sides of Penny Lane:

Do you suppose she can see the guy behind her?

Great work guys,

Ken.

Nice wye. I have always wanted to model one but never had the space.

Good stuff.

Whooo! You guys have been busy. Great pics.

Here’s my offering to the rail gods.
First shot is a Rad Cab I detailed up for my Service shop.

Second shot is a night shot of downtown on my layout, taken by the light of just the street lights.

Haven’t had much time to work on the layout for the last couple fo weeks, but I did make some progress. The Staging tracks are installed so now i can start working on the next level. I had a problem with a curved turnout that my passenger cars had trouble going through so I had to increase the radius of the inside track to accomodat the passenger cars which meant making larger radii for the outer two tracks. some modifications had to be made. But it will work!

I have started to work on a gorge. got some broken cieling tiles from a local lumber yard, so I will give them a try. I hope it will end up looking like Watkins Glen South of where I live. So far I am pleased.
