Had plans to work on the yard platform while the wife was at school taking finals on Saturday, but ended up painting on the house. The good news is that there are a few more screens and storm windows out of the way in the garage, making a little more room for real progress. Also started toying with rebuilding a Bachmann Northern into a Western Maryland J-1 Potomac class…
Next I have to contact Digitrax to gripe. I mailed them 4 burned up decoders over a month ago, and not even a peep. I hope they didn’t get lost en route. Grrr.

10X3 but about 70% I would say is completed. This weekend I actually worked on my freeway a little with coloring.

Playing around with the camera settings some to experiment with depth of field. Zoom at 55 F29 and 20 second exposure at iso 100.
Good photo but would be even better if you cropped the wire on the wall and what
looks like a tripod leg layout out of the photo
I agree, HB. You have a really nice layout!!! And the shot is very good. I don’t know if you have any familiarity with some of the image manipulation software, but there are several. One is Sagelight, another is FastStone. These are just examples. When you open your image full sized, you can crop out all the unwanted stuff, although it would be hard to crop out all of the gray wall at the right. Anyway, if you need help with this, PM me.

Thanks. I have the software and have been using it. I left everything in the pic since it was just to check for the depth of field.
I have been messing around with Photoshop elements and have been slowly learning my way around it. Last week I replaced my blue wall with this pic that I was helping someone with.
Nothing a little cropping can’t fix.

You worked on this model for what seems like years.
Just after you finished it, some wild cat knocked it off the table.
Now you’re on the lam dodging the coppers in fourteen states…
never fear man!
Just explain it to the jury.
You’d be acquitted nearly everywhere.
Excepting of course Texas and Oklahoma…
where they tend to favor instead the wildcatter…
Not it…
here is the piece on my layout
Loving those tank cars. How old are they? The wheel flanges look like they’re from the 70’s or earlier?

I would say that the oil derricks would be the first sign that the steam loco is on it way out. Once they new they could burn it in a loco and it was cleaner then coal it was only a matter of time. Have a nice day Frank

“Baron” Molitor
The following is on file in the Rogers City, MI Library
as received from the University Library Ann Arbor, Michigan on 20 Oct 1959:
A short time before the murder of Albert Molitor a story was published to the effect that Molitor’s mother was a Lady in Waiting in the court of the old King William of Wurtemburg and that the King was his father. His mother was afterwards married to Capt. Molitor and Albert was given a good education. On reaching manhood, he was installed in the engineers corp of the war department at Ludwigsburg and while working as a draftsman was detected making plans of the great fortress of Uhlan.
He was arrested, but after a long trial was allowed to go free if he would migrate to the United States, which he promptly did.
He joined the U.S. Army, served through the rebellion (Civil War) with distinction of Gen Sigels staff and after the war obtained a position in the department of Great Lakes survey in Detroit.
It was while on the Lake Survey that Molitor located the stands of
You nailed it, except for the reasons why Repke finally confessed.
He had nothing but bad luck after the murder, his cattle all died, his buildings burned and his children drowned.
I wish Hollywood would produce a movie of this incredible, true tale.
